I do believe sufficient time has passed between now and the last one, so I wish to have another roll call to see who is still going. The realization of the 8000th thread in the VVV ("There's a party on tonight--and everyone's invited!") reminded me of how many of us still doggedly keep going on with a game from a different millenium.

I'd just like to see how many people are still here -- no point in asking gender either; I've already figured out that I'm alone

AoE would take a long time to die out, if it ever would. Despite the graphics, it is arguably more successful than McDonalds.

8000 threads is a blimey achievement as well.

Not 'bad', Doc, just that (by today's standard) it is 'very slightly surreal'. The jungles man... they are too thin and light.

I guess it's a design problem, though.

aoe graphics, no matter what you say, are still pretty mean, who can resisted an awed expression when you thrash up someone over the zone (or vice versa) with 120 ammassed composite bowmen, all firing uncountable amounts of arrows as their chariots, few and far between, drop like flys with the satisfying crush of wood, followed by a horses scream, then a guys head splitting open on the ground, now thats still wicked

AoE's graphics, for its time, were outstanding. Show me one game from the same time period with better graphics - there weren't any.

Well, I have this Sledgehammer for people who don't like AoE....maybe thats a bit extreme.

Maybe a carebear tattoo on his shaved head will do the trick.....

The way I see it, AoE Graphics are outstanding in some parts. The way the units move, the way they swing there swords, its great!

This seems like a forum with a relatively small amount of people who have known each other a long time. I've only been here a few months, but y'all seem lke a nice buncha people. I've always been able to get my questions answered promptly and no one seems to own a flame-thrower. I'd be honored to be included as one of your own, but if the Queen is only trying to see who is left over from way back whenever I understand.

AoE engine was good for 1997 but in 1998 other games had better game engies like War Games it engeie is a ealy version of Empire Earth.
