  • If you want to make the horse's moving graphic appear again in ROR, change 9201 to FFFF.

  • Change the 01 to 00 if you want the horse to appear on unit list.

  • To make the horse become an artifact, change 0A00 or 0900 to 0100. Then every time it get killed, it will still on the map with 1 hp left and do a short-distance "teleport". Yet, the horse won't move AT ALL if you do this.

Ha, those are my words! (thus explaining the quote) I wish I had AoE, but sadly - I don't...

Anyway, I'm Oliver, a forumer from AoK heaven. I was inspired by s_t_c to start hex modifying data files, and up to this date I believe it's only I, s_t_c and SW:GB heaven's Mandalorian who knows how to modify the graphics of AoK (although s_t_c and Mand knows a lot more than I do about these things ). Of course we (at least I ) want to change this, and I have written a guide called 'Beginner's guide to changing units graphics'. It should be avaible at tsuniversity.com soon. I'm focusing on AoK, but you AoE:ers might find it useful, too.

Keep up the good work s_t_c! Btw are there any major differences between the empires.dat and the empires2_x1.dat file?

It's good to have some people from AoK drop by. Tsunami Studios is famous for their website - it has 'Spotlight' articles on designers that everyone should have a read of, and it is a source of articles for all games, but especially AoK, where they are like the unofficial article source.

Data in Empires.dat is much shorter than that in Empires2(_x1).dat. However, that just gives me some advantages when analyzing....

This thread is out of date, just download the Enhanced Editor.

My guess is he knows about AoEd/RoRd and the Enhanced/Composite editors, but wanted the compressor/decompressor instead.

I've uploaded DiGiT's compressor/decompressor (zlibnoh) to the Granary in case more people want to use it for enhancing their scenario's.
