Topic Subject: Can you destroy ruins and artifacts? Well sort of

Upon recent investigations and experiments to bring out new unit behavoiurs and therefore new map design ideas, Gumble has made some interesting discoveries. Most he intended to be used in his scenarios but ALAS! finding time to design is increaseingly difficult. So all the young minds here can prehaps find use for them.

1. Ruins can be blown up. Yes well, kind of. If a Hero Francis uses his powers on a unit adjacent to a ruin it will make the ruin dissapear and then reapear somewhere else when you move a unit close by, ie. capture it. Using this ruins appear to ignore elevations and also appear to create a boundry where they used to be. Meaning you can't walk where they were originally and also can't walk where they turn up which is usally quite close by. Further investigation is needed but using this effect you can
*Create a permanet barrier
*Possibly 'Blow up' artifacts and Hero_traitors as well
*Stop a ruin countdown

2.Artifacts and war chests have many interesting propities, one of which is their relationship with water. Artifacts CAN'T go across shallows where war chests can, and both can't go across water except in a transport. So what happens when the boat sinks? War chests 'jump' to the nearest bit of shallows or land whilst artifacts 'jump' to the closest bit of land PROVIDED YOU HAVE PREVIOUSLY DISCOVERED IT ie, you have 'seen' the land. At which point the artifacts and war chests beceome netral ownership. Distance is no object when having the artifacts/chest jump so technically you could create a scenario where an artifact 'Jumps' to the opposite side of the map where you might have to retrive it or something. The 'jumping' covers over any object like cliffs or black fog. so you can 'jump' to normally inaccessable areas. This principle works the same for hero_Traitor.

3.So what happens if there is no land to jump to? Well artifacts ignore their first rule and like war chests jump to the closest patch of shallows. So what if there is no shallows? Are they BLOWN U??? Sigh, no but a different effect happens: they drop down right where the ship sank. Thats right exactly where the ship was making an immovable barrier unless you can use another transport to pick them up again. So what happens when a heavy transport drops 10 artifacts? they ALL drop together in one tile of space, they stack on top of each other, only blocking one tile. This is the same for war chests and Hero_Traitors. Using this effect you can:
*Create a semi-invincible water-barrier (the computer players would never pick up artifacts with transports.
*You can create a bring 10 artifacts to area where the area is one tile as an mission objective.

4.SO IS IT POSSIBLE TO BLOW UP RUINS!? Answer= Probably. Gumble has not tried it yet but theroiticaly yes. Example 1. Make an entire water map and use saint frances to hit an object on top of a ruin. In theory it should dissapear but then it may just bounce to somewhere in the water.
Example 2. Make a map using the fog template and have only 1 tile of land. On that tile put the ruins/artifacts + saint Francis + something for saint francis to hit. Bang and there is a good chance the ruins or artifacts would be gone for good. But then it would not make much of a scenario right?

Final observations:
Artifacts and war chests have a weird relationshiop. If you capture just one warchest you can negate an artifact countdown victory. However war chasts don't have an count down timer UNLESS you have artifacts aswell. So in a funny sort of way you can have two artifact countdown victorys where capturing an artifact would cancel one timer but capturing a war chest would cancel both. There are certainly some interesting effects that can be made with this discovery.

There are other strange properties to be discovered and some which Gumble found but can't recall at the present time. If anyone wants to try out these theroies then Gumble would be interested in hearing about them. Thank you

Too many people say far too much about Gumble. They also claim Gumble says far too much which isnt true.

I belive you used can't where you meant can Gumble.

Hero Francis can "destroy" other invincible objects as well, different terrain features or cliffs for example. Though the unit appears to be destroyed it is actually still in the same position. I believe the Laser Tower is in possession of the same kind of attack.

For Statement 4 it is false, this only makes the ruins remain in the same place.
