What that sounds like to me is, that the forums are still going to be here.

Just not the updates and changes and news.

whats so bad about that? we will still be here? the forum and all will be here. not like they are deleting us! the site just wont be updated.

well the community is growing... and we need a site like this for the community. a place to put strats, campaings, hints, scenarios, utilities, contests, and the whole lot...

AOE is what? 5 years old?

It cant be growing, and you cant be finding more and more strats now-a-days can you?

either way, strats & hints can still be posted on the forums.

it can easily be growing.

in the past year, i've seen quite a few people join these forums. but all this place is, is a forum. no site, just a forum. why not make it back IN TO a site? no one else is willing to, except we forumers! why not let US make the site for US???

It's umm "archived" but still is growing at an alarming rate... as many people still come, learn, and share new ideas or re-think older ones-

it's safe to say, one will never learn everything about a game...

I hope even if AoE Heaven is archived, that it still brings good stuff to new players--- for years to come

First, I think there was some miscommunications going on.

AoEH is NOT DISAPPEARING/CLOSING DOWN.

What's actually going to happen is that we'll freeze any new developments on the site, and put the site into "maintenance" mode.

This means we'll still update the various sections if there's a need for it. This means strats for the Academy, if there are new strats; maps, etc. for the Granary, etc.

What we DON'T want to do is devote additional resources to AoEH, when other new Heaven sites desperately need those resources.

The forums will stay as well.

For a better idea of what's going to happen to AoEH, check out Caesar III Heaven. That site's been put into maintenance mode for a while now, but their forums are as busy as ever.

I hope it clears the confusion.

Zen, i can understand you guys not wanting to move staff and resources into aoeh. But me aug and phill would love to work on AOEH, and i dont see how us doing things just here would take away any needed resources from other HG sites..
