This campaing follows the life of Xerxes, from the beginning of his service to the final battle at Athen. Itø's kinda easy, but the last level can be a bit tricky.
Playability: 2
Even though this campaign is nothing more than some easy scenarios it can be fun to play. There are no bugs and building up is always nice. Yet there is nothing which will keep you interested in "The Life of Xerxes". Historically it is totally wrong, there is no story, no creativity, no difficulty.
Balance: 2
This campaign really is too easy. The third scenario holds a little difficulty by being not easy to win until you advance to iron age. But even at bronze age you can win this one with a little tactis quite easily.
Creativity: 1.5
Almost none. Victory conditions are changing.
Map Design: 2
The maps are random maps with some units and cities included. Some parts of the map seem to be modified to fit the scenario but there is not much to make me smile. Especially, there is no eye candy at all.
Story/Instructions: 2.0
You will play Xerxes and his army. Not only that the very little story you get presented is historically incorrect, but also Xerxes may die in any of the scenarios without having any effect. There are no bitmaps and only few hints.
