Nice balance changes. My friends and I have played ROR at least once a month for over 10 years now.
Do you think it would be possible to "mod" AOE:ROR to use a larger resolution in a 4:3 format? For instance if you go to the registry entry below:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Games\Age of Empires\1.00
And change the Screen Size Entry from 400(hex) to 500, the game uses a 1280X960 Resolution...but clips it at the 1024X768. I wonder if there is a way we could change the clipping to allow us to play at at least 1280X960.

One question: if one already has the 7.0 version, does this one modify that patch, or does it completely overwrite it?
Example: The Wooden Shield technology is listed for 7.0, but not 8.0. Will that tech be eliminated if I upgrade to 8.0, or will it remain?
