Ugahond Playtest designed by Timothy McKenzie 2009.
This campaign is primaraly for people to test out the first section of my 'Raviyl' campaign.
So expect a work in progress. Find a bug report it to me. Find something you like
compliment me. Find something you hate abuse me. I am looking for feed back so have the
final campaign much more balanced and enjoyable. Send me an email at
'gumble_in_all_of_us@hotmail.com' (NO SPAMMING PLEASE) or my Gumble account at age of Empires heaven. I would
really appreciate it.
I spent I great deal of time and effort in this campaign and I hope it shows in the quality
and character of each and every scernio. I do hope you have a swell time playing and
enjoy the detailed world that is Odian, the island of Ugahond. If you want to give it a
reveiw then go ahead I look forward for all CONSTRUCTIVE comments so I can improve it and
make it a truly EPIC CAMPAIGN!

Uh, the only thing you need to install is the campaign. Don't confuse the people who don't know about the other stuff. >.> |

SCENARIO 3 COMMENTS TIME!
-I can't destroy the red barracks no matter how hard I try, as there's only room for two units.
-Apparently you didn't know that Hard and Hardest are 100% identical except that in Hardest computers all get 2000 more of each resource?
-"Gather 2000 wood and food" -> It's not like it's very hard with all those villagers, but those kinds of VC's just give a bad impression. |

Gazan and a clubman will destroy the red barracks. I had originally set the VCs to 1000 food and wood which doesnt take long but as I said (and especially if you read Authers comments in hints section) that on hardest computer players auto win. And no I diddn't know the difference about hard and hardest. If the scernio was just gather 2000 food and wood then yes it would be a little boring. Thats why I chucked in the discoverys and bonus mini games aswell. Notice how hard it is to break into the lion pit MrCheeze? |

I had Gazan and clubman on the barracks for 10 minutes, not one point of damage done. This was on hard.
Just right clicking in the middle of the lion pit got my villager in. Of course, this was right after I had that very rare glitch in the game where villagers move along the edge of the map through everything. |

When you select the bitmap, AI and per in the editor, the selected files are stored in the scenario so you don't need to add them in separately. |

Right, thanks for the comments guys. I have modded the 3rd level so there is more space to destroy the red barracks. I also put in some gaia critters to eat any repairmen that come by. I will no longer include AI,PER, and bit maps seperatly. I did not know the scernio itself included them. Thanks this is the sort of constructive feed back im looking for. Got anything nice to say about my campaign MrCheeze? |

I love the 5th level. It combines great micromanaging on a well designed map that remind's me of games like "CNC3" and "Red Alert 3" with the way its structure and level design has been created. A couple of suggestions though:
-Its really hard on moderate and above because you cant capture the artifact before the time limit runs out as your barracks would get destroyed by the other opposing team.
-Some of that paths are a bit thin and the units don't path find correctly.
-The final battle is extremely hard as you have to keep on sending wave after wave of clubmen to their doom to defeat the browns.
All in all, I cant wait for the entire campaign to be finished. |

Thanks if every comment was like that it would be wonderful. Unfortunatly I have recieved comments that my levels have been too easy so I tried to balance it as a "boss" level for scernio 5. I will make modifications to make path finding easier. The last scernio CAN be done on hardest but you need to know where everything is. A couple of pure scouting rounds before a proper attempt is in order. the two shallows around the barracks make excellent bottlenecks to halt enemy clubmen. The last fight at the end is costly but basic strategy will minimize losses. There are two entrances to the Rithican island, send some fodder to distract the enemy on the side you don't want to focuss on. all the enemy clubmen will rush over to that side. Now send troops over to the opposite side and make them "stand ground" to prevent them attacking buildings. keep sending over troops untill you have a formidable amount and then attack. Hopefully without provocation the enemy clubmen will still be on the other side and won't come over untill you can handle them. |

Whoops I forgot, I have also had complaints that the maps are too big. Path finding on age of empires has been traditionaly difficult at best. Not matter the game or map my troops always find a way to vex me by getting stuck on one object and then blocking everyone behind them. Like a lone tree in a field they HAVE to stop and annoy me.
Dam I just read the review guidelines and I have to say they kinda void all previous reviews Ive recieved. Some comments were true and thoughtful but most were purely opinunated. I spent two weeks trying to make kick-ass bitmaps (spending a valuable $15) only to have them blow up in my face and find to get a score of '5' they arnt even required. Same with AI, and Per files. Balance is purely to do with the skill level of the player and the difficulty of the campaign marked by the designer. Creativity as actually little to do with eye candy at all and more with the layout and style of a map. All in all i feel dispointed that I have made all this effort to impress people who arnt doing thier job properly. (Nobody in particular but I think you know who you are.) And Spelling? SPELLING!? I would be the first to admit I AM THE WORST SPELLER IN THE WORLD WHO WAS TESTED AND FOUND TO HAVE GOT WORSE DURING AN EDUCATIONAL YEAR AND RECIVED A LOWER SCORE ON THE SAME TEST AT THE END OF THAT YEAR. I think as long as the story is quite legiable, the victory condtions are clear, and the story consistant then it really shouldnt matter if "its" is meant to be "it's" with an apostrophe. You are way too critical on yourself. Chillax. Your unique style is what makes the maps as good as they are. I just love exploring in AoE and in your levels I'm trying to find all of the little coves and outlets where resources can be found. You should make it primary on the final levels to search out and explore the coves for vital resources like stone and gold.
Personally I don't think that your maps are too big. They have just the right amount space to fit all of the little surprises and hidden treasures.
One thing that I do enjoy about your levels is the fact that the players attention is more focused on the objectives than the surrounding scenery and map candy. That is my main (and only) problem with Andrea Rosa and Indigo Van Theils maps. |
