Jack Rumskas Throw 150 men on a field and let them go at it. Actually, this scenario is quite well balanced, and it proves to be a challenge, especially in the beginning. You must hold back wave after wave of infantry. The story line is good and the play is good.Recommend experienced players play this on "very hard" mode.Rating: 6 of 10 ;

Simple battle scenairo, with a city to defend. Scenairo took many tries to complete and got very tiresome. No real dandy VC's, simply attack the attackers at one spot and then send them out to attack the remnants. Very tiresome to do, as they splotch out on the map and are quite numerous. To get past the begining is very difficult to do, but is somewhat entertaining for awhile; it takes alot of thought on what to do.

Balance: 3
The balance is actually quite good, but the fact that it takes far too many tries to complete simply makes it tiresome... It takes awhile to try all the different options. It can be beat, with a test of your patience. Most players will give up--I honestly don't think old Jack was right about this one.

Creativity: 1.5
This obviously did not take too long to make, and the only minor strength here is the story, which has some development. Blank grass across most of the map, along with a big, open city. Simply kill all the units of the enemy and you are done.

Map Design: 1.2
Awful. As stated above, blank grass all over the map with a spacy city. Nothing to be had here... Quite typical for 1997.

Story/Instructions: 3.2
Everything needed for the scenairo was here. Plenty of hints were given and the story has some development put on it. A small aftermath message for lose/win aswell, but no bitmap. Not too bad and does what it needs to do. The aftermath messages could have a bit more in them though.

Additional Comments: Old Jack Rummy is long gone now, and if he came back he'd probably see that this author no loger deserves even that rating. Very typical stuff here... I wouldn't reccomend the dowload. If you want to play a good battle scenairo from 1997, I'd highly suggest Thermopylae by Quentin.

Map: Large fortified city surrounded by open fields

Playability: 2
Not really fun as there was no real challenge or in depth story. You simply have to defeat a large army - part right outside your town and part fighting a small group of your units in the open field.

Balance: 3
The strong point here is that the resources in coming from current villagers just about lets you dwindle the enemy numbers down without losing too many buildings.

Creativity: 2
Not too much here, story kind of describes your city is under attack as soon as you engage the army - but there is literally no distance between your army and the city (i.e. quickly fall back and take you the siege!).

Map Design: 2
Terrain is very plain with some cliffs in the corner to protect gold mines, and city has some roads.

Story/Instructions: 2
Basic instructions with spelling and grammar mistakes.

Additional Comments:
Not worth downloading, no real challenge and nothing special.
