They're the things; I've been wondering as well.

I've been looking at those alot try try to figure out what they are. Originally I assumed it had to do with the direction its firing, but after watching the video thats not the case.

There is never one above an undeployed cannon so I believe its merely a marker which points out where deployed cannons are on a battlefield.

If it means more, I haven't figured it out yet.

It's really hard to tell whether a cannon is limbered (packed) or unlimbered (unpacked), so we added those little spinning icons. This was a bigger problem earlier in development when there weren't many animations for the cannons. I'm not sure if we'll need this feature by the time we ship or not.

haha, score 1 for me.

Personally, I hope you get rid of them.. I can see how they'd be helpful but they also ruin the looks of the battle, by having a big ole bull's eye above the cannons. If I want to take screenshots of the battles, the bulls eye won't help.. Maybe make it optional if its really that bad?

Also, the "XP Granted" thingie, ya..that wouldn't be good in screenshots too.. I'd just have the counter at the bottom, because you can assume when your units die you'll give XP to the enemy.
