USA = United State of America = 54 states (correct me here) = Historical colorful due to it's origin of people = Came from Africa = Migrate from Europe = Breakaways nation of Brittania = Traders/Workers from the Asian countries ETC.

Yup American is included alright (unless AoE3 Timeline within/after the Independence).

I am an American. My ancestry is from Germany, Poland, Ireland, and some Sioux Indian. But since I wasn't born in Germany, Poland, Ireland, or a Native American village, I am an American.

So, now that that's been said...

Reasons that the USA isn't in this game:
1. Like Mokon said, the Home City concept would just be weird.
2. The plain and simple truth is that America would not cut it. ES would have to make the American Population Cap 20 to give an accurate portrayal of American military might. I mean, one of the main reasons America won the Revolutionary War was because of the help that we got from the French. (check out information on the War of 1812 to see what the Revolutionary War might've been like if the French hadn't helped us out.)
3. The time period that this game is set in is from the end of AOE2 to Colonial times. A "USA" Civilization would be playable starting at about... Industrial Age. Unless we wanted to have America get ticked about taxation without representation about 50 years earlier than they did.

Now, you may be saying "An 'accurate portrayal'? Worried about ES messing up American history? What does that matter, they messed with history by putting the Ottomans in!"
That's true, but the other 2 points made about American military might in that time period, and about the weirdness of an American HC, pretty much kill the chance for an American civilization.

As for the Ottomans: The reason ES put them in is because they were a military super-power in Europe/Asia during that time period, and ES decided it might be fun to see what it would've been like to have them come to the New World (which they didn't). The Ottoman Empire has evolved into modern day Turkey, go look it up, and share it with your mom, it sounds like she needs a few lessons in 'geografy'.

I hope that there is a map which contains heavy jungle and the ability to dig underground complexes and set all kind of traps around the place.

Then the ability for one side to use chemical weapons and still get their asses owned by a civ who couldn't advance as far!!!!!!

AOE3's timeline is from 1550-1850 what clearly means the americans don't play a big role in this game.If you want to show how brave your land is and don't understand it, you are a child that thinks everybody is stupid if he or she isn't an american.
Go home and play an Ego shooter and try too imagine that your're popular only because you've said that your land is the best.
If you've understand that you could say that it wasn't right and think about it.

Does Bush have a son? If he has, then Enduring Freedom will probably his. I don't have anything against Americans, family of me is living there, but come on, how old are you. Also please don't tell someone he's a nazi, because that is really bad, because I honestly don't think there is a nazi on this forum. It is very nice for your mother that she has been in Ireland, but Europe is small but not that small, now I am going to write world history; THERE IS MORE THEN IRELAND IN EUROPE.
And about Saddam, I think it was wrong to invade Iraq, but well now I am really off-topic.
And about your milletary power(or however you write it)it might be the strongest best etc. but that doesn't mean you should be put into a game.

Btw Turkey and other civs out of this game aren't third world nations.
