The Age of Empires III Heaven Screenshots Thread

There have been numerous recent posts and threads requesting screenshots of battles, towns, eye candy, etc.

Most of these threads are poorly organized, and the screenshots are not always easy to find.

I think that there should be one organized, easy to navigate thread where people can post screenshots. This is that thread, so please post your screenshots here, and I will update the thread daily and keep it very well organized. This also eliminates the annoyance of seeing multiple "repeat threads" about screenshots popping up all over the place.

NOTE: I WANT TO CONCENTRATE ON ACTUAL IN GAME SCREENSHOTS, NOT EDITOR EYE CANDY, IN THIS THREAD.

This Section contains the specs of the computers on which people took the screenshots posted above. It can serve as a helpful guide as to what video cards produce what graphical results, in case someone is looking to buy a video card, or is just interested.

SCREENSHOT TIPS

To take a screenshot, one can either press Ctrl+F12, or hit the Print Screen button in the upper right hand corner of the keyboard.

To access your screenshots, go to the "My Documents" folder. Then, go to "My Games". Then, go to "Age of Empires 3". Then, go to "Screenshots".

To hide the 'User Interface' (UI) in a screenshot, go to the Scenario Editor, which is located under "Help and Tools" on the Main Menu. Then, go to File, go to Take a Screenshot, and then select Hide Interface. To hide the cursor, select "Hide Cursor".

One can also set the quality of one's screenshots, and their file type, in the Scenario Editor by going to File, Take a Screenshot, and then selecting the appropriate options.

Try to take screenshots of interesting, exciting, humorous, beautiful, or otherwise unusual scenes.

So far, we have received more than 150 screenshots from 20 different forummers. You can help this thread grow by posting your awesome screenies here!

P.S.- After many weeks, some links to photo hosting sites may no longer work. If a link is not working, please repost your screenshot so I can have every image link work. If anyone knows how to fix this problem, all help would be appreciated. Thank You.

P.P.S- Some of the larger images may take quite a while to load.

this is a newb question but how do you take screenshots i thought it was ctrl f12 but when i press it, it doesn't work

One can either press

Print Screen/SysRq
OR
Control F12

Screenshots are stored under My Documents, My Games, Age of Empires III, screenshots.

Check F5 because mine used to be control f12 but maybe with the new patch it changed or something. And it isn't control F5 just F5.

OK, thank you ramaan, I know about that. I want to concentrate on battles and towns in this thread, not editor eye candy. And I was just trying to eliminate the need for the many repeat threads that have been cropping up all over the place.

Before I can answer please explain to me what you do to take a screenshot, and where you go to find them. I have heard of other people experiencing this as well, so please explain what happened.

I press CTRL+F12 and then it says: "Saving screen Jpeg... Etc. When i did the "My documents, my games, AoE3, screenshots, its blank. I found that very frustrating cause I saved a wicked one of me pwning a Spanish player

The in-game screenshot utility is Print Screen. I use FRAPS, myself.

It never makes a reference to a certain type of file, like a Jpeg, for me. Try just pressing "Print Screen". If that doesn't work, go to....

and look for screenshots
Although that doesn't work for me it might work for you, as it worked in previous 'Age' games. If you still have difficulty, tell me. I'll look around and try to figure it out.
