I just found a nifty little website that should end a lot of these posts

select the game you want, let the website do its thing, and it will rate how well your system will cope with the game in several different areas. If you fail it will give links to update your drivers/send you to newegg with suggested hardware.

keep in mind the program isn't perfect but it seems pretty good.

Nice find.
I passed in everything fully except my video card, so I failed completely. But I'm getting a new one, and thanks to the "we recommend" section, more threads about "what video card should I get?" won't be necessary.
