Instead go with the XPS 400

-1 gig 533 mhz memory
-6800 graphics card
-P4 3.2ghz processor.

I'm shopping for an XPS 400, too. I'm getting the gig of ram and already have a 6800gs to put into it... now i'm wondering about the processor. Which is better, getting the higher GHz processor with HT technology or getting the lower GHz with Dual Core technology? (3.2 GHz P4 w/ HT -or- 2.8 GHz Dual Core)

3.2ghz is better.

I have the same system specs, so i went with a Nvidia GeForce MX 4000. You can get either a PCI version or AGP. in all respects, any graphics card that supports DIrectX 9.0 will do good with this game.

Uhh ... no. PCI graphics cards have a very difficult time even opening AoE3, let alone playing it (I know from experience). Direct x9 is a barebone requirement. Half the G60 series won't play it that well.

How does a Sapprire Radeon 9800 pro 128MB 470MHz core clock compare to a FX5200 128MB, and is it worth $40?

Upgrading to anything below the 6600GT or x1800xl is not worth it. Check my list for prices and alternate options in my signature.

Well then this is one of two things ...

-your definition of great is poor
-by PCI you infact mean PCI-express

Radeon 9250 might run Aoe3 for PCI. 256 MB, I know that doesn't matter a whole lot, but it is the best PCI card. What I'm looking to slip into for $65. Core's clocked pretty decent too, 325 mhz I think.

Heh, hard to believe nevertheless I'm going to trust ya. FPS please? That's really what makes or breaks a video card.
