I suggest scrapping Maurya and Armenia (and maybe China). This way there aren't too many civs in the mod.

Carthage is the correct spelling of "Carthalage" by the way.

Well i was hoping to do it for TAD, but won't that mean i will have all the more modern civs, like the chinese, chinese, japanese and the natives?

So it will be quite weird having the Sioux and Indians against the Romans and Celts?

Thanks for the spelling correction ;-)

One more thing, i can mod, but not everything. I'm just gunna learn things on the way.

i would suggest to start out with 2-3 civs and ad more later when/if you have released something playable

you could use the wonders as age up for eg. Egipt: building monuments, like in Aom

ps imho if you include rome you should also include a decent germanic or/and Slavic civ.(in the final version)

I have some ideas, but i need help

    Any ideas for flags?

    Any Revolution ideas?

    Any tech/unit ideas?

How could i build a chariot?

Dear Jacobite Joe, I see pain... much pain. You'll never finish it. I suggest you to change your civs to Greece, Rome, Egypt, China and Celts. You can use AOM as base, China will be half-done with TAD. Once you finished those civs, you can *think* about adding more.

[shoves people out of the way] I call tabs!

An broader of where you're going with this mod would be nice. I'd like to help, but I'm not entirely sure how.

If you could give me direction, I can make you a logo and some basic "media." Just tell me what you'd like, etc.

Good luck, but an easier choice would be to try this for AoM. Or just go play ye olde AoE1.

OK so i'll narrow it down to:
    Rome
    Egypt
    Persia
    Greece
    Celts
    China

    That sound OK??

General II, i do not have any good ideas for media, and the mod is still in it's infancy. Do you have any ideas?

I'd work on a name. "Ancient mod" is certainly something to work with, but it seems, to me, to lack something. Some ideas:

    -the founders
    -the ancients
    -Prehistory
    -Classical History

An idea that keeps coming up in my mind is just having the river valley civilizations:

    -Mesopotamia
    -China
    -India
    -Egypt

I don't know the feasibility or how entertaining/fun these would be, though.

Above all else, what's needed is a timeline of the mod.

Ive got an Idea for mesopotamia, since they made houses using the ground and not much wood, make buildings either free and very weak or cheaper as the civ bonus.

Well i'm thinking it should be set during the middle of the 'classical Antiquity' era.

    So it'll be set between-
Just before the Persians invade Greece and Just before rome is divided into 2 empires.

I'm guessing that would be around 400 BCE to 500CE? I'm probably a few hundred years off in both directions.

The picture you used looks like an old mosque. Mosques didn't turn up after 630 or something, which doesn't really fit the timeline.

The architecture is probably older than islamism. I guess arabia always looked like that?

The architecture looks Persian to me, the only places I found it in are mosques. But hey, what do I know?

How about flags, what could i do for them?

I know romans used to have vexillums, but the rest don't seem to have anything but standards. SO does anyone have any ideas?

See what you'll do: exactly the same ES did.

Aztecs, Sioux and Iroquois didn't have flags. However, they had some symbols. I'm not sure about the S and I flags, but the aztec sun is seen in one of their national symbols; It has been recolored and turned into a flag. You should look for roman symbols (contantine's cross, leaf cross, wings) and make their flag. The egyptians, for example, get an horus eye, maybe?

Ignore english mistakes, i'm not fine today... -.-

It's a 1915 pic of Samarkand (which was Persian at a time). I'm pretty sure it wasn't a mosque, since I tried to avoid them since they weren't prevalent.

Some Ideas...I am trying to create a new sources to gain wood, food and gold:

    New food sources:

-Villagers can upgrade and be able to plant berry bushes

-Maybe apple trees-however i still don't know how to make them

-New domesticated animals: Pigs, Highland Cattle, Goats and Chickens

-New huntables: I'll wait for TAD to be released until trying to make new ones, but i'm planning on making african animals like zebra, springbok etc. and maybe some new Europe ones (but i can't think of many original ones).

    Any other ideas?

    For a revolution:

Rome could choose between the Eastern Roman Empire and the Western Roman Empire. The Eastern would provide some sort of cavalry while the Western would provide infantry.

Greece could choose between Macedonia and the Eastern Roman Empire.

what about politicians? maybe, like Tungsten said, you can choose between 2 periods (egypt is upper and lower, upper is gold boost, lower is farming boost) I like Roman idea, but by cav im assuming cataphracts They should be a unit like a cuir, expensive but awesome Greece could be between city-states like sparta for military and athens for eco. (Thank God for Honors World History!)

Anything else you need help with as far as characteristics for civs, i am glad to help.
