I will present you a strat that I use(not cookiecrisp13 sorry )
the Ashigaru Semi FF
i have some success with it but im only a casual player-->im 1er lieut
here we go!

cards needed
-300 wood
-4 vills and 7 vills
-600 gold
-military age 3 card
-age 3 ressources crates

1)DISCOVERY
(200 wood start) build a shrine and all the villies on food Age(torii) ASAP with no idle tc time(12-15 villies) with 3 or 4 vills on wonder
first card 300 wood
(300 wood start) build a consulate with 3 vills ASAP and choose port
you must as well gather 24 wood
when you're allied with port build a shrine at 106 wood
age(torii) ASAP with no idle tc time with 3 or 4 vills on wonder
you can age up at 680 food its sweet
first card 300 wood

2)TRANSITION
1-2 vills collect the 3OO wood and the explorer make 3 shrines and set up shrine on gold
1 vill to wood
3 vills to gold
rest on food

3)COLONIAL
make a barracks with the travois
ship 4 vills
make villies and make them go on to food
send your samouraļ to explore and try to annoy his villes with him
once your rax is up do 10 ashi(2X5)
ship 4 vills(second time)
you will have a nice eco
when your 10 ashi are ready send them to enemy base if he have a forward base go around it and try to kill a few vills in his base (try as well to keep them alive)
ship 6OO gold
try to advance to fortress ASAP with golden pavillion(~6 vills on it)

4)TRANSITION
make 5 ashi
~7 vills on gold
~7 vills on wood
rest on food
make vills and a few shrines
and see what ressources you need and set your shrines to it

5)FORTRESS
I usually ship 2 flame throwers but 8 ashi, 9 yumi or 5 nagi could be a nice idea
be aggressive and make ashi at your rax
continue to make shrine
you can as well send the ups for nagi, ashi(these guys roXx) and/or yumi
and you can as well ship twice 7 villies for a very (very) nice eco boost

Love it,but its better with the 300w start,where u build the consulate so that the port bonus really helps.in 1]aging time2]increasing the effectiveness of the 300w shipment.i always like semi ff strats.especially with a good eco.GJ.

Well for improvement imo,a pure hi attack is bad vs li which will hit and run u to death .so i think going deep into his base is not a good idea,just keep his villies away from food for a while kill some if u can.but most importantly keep them alive.if they die so does ur forward barracks.the initial attack is a little slow because the travois has to go accross the map,then build and u are making 5 ashis at a time.so a big attack without backup isn't good i would say. also u could ship 5 ashis as first shipment.and attack with 5 built ashis.total 10.this will be alot faster distraction and u won't have to make costly ashigarus.so u can put less on gold in transition and more on food improving ur fortress time.here send 5 ashis first,then 4 vills or 600g.

i not do a forward base, i make my barrack back in my base
And you can also send 5 yumi imo against LI and you ship after twice 4 vills but not 600 gold your up at age 3 a little bit more slowly but your first attack is quicker
and i must say it it work relatively well against a china ff

I think this is a decent strat. It's nothing really spectacular, but a solid boom oriented FF. Ofcourse this will lose heavily against for instance an OIR, but against a FF this might be a good idea, cuz you will have a better eco when arriving in Fortress, but the military difference is small enough to keep the enemy army at bay untill Japan's strong units are backed up with a good economy. I like it. Merci bien!

Okay well mabye it's not an OP strat but its still DECENT, as you say.

not sure because you can always adapte and you can put some military age 2 card and some ressources crates for making military and passe fortress later
i think this strat is pretty much flexible

and i wanted what do you think about rec?(i think i have not played well but it was ok)

Im tired of Japan strats involving Ashigaru Musks... at least Cookie ones got nice screenshots and stuff.
