Historical Significance:A Russian bogatyr ("brave knight") derives from the Khazar word baghatur. These knights of the prairie held the infidels and Muslims out of Europe for a long time and managed to keep Russia Christian. More heavily armed than western European knights. They carried in addition to lance and sword, a battle axe, mace or hammer, bow and arrows plus a case of short throwing javelins. From the poem "The lay of the host of Igor" is a description of Prince Sviatoslav's attack on the infidel Kumans who raided southern Russia regularly. "This prince of Kiev held (everyone) in fear and awe, for, as a tempest, his powerful regiments and his Frankish swords defeated and attacked the Kuman lands. They trampled under Kuman hills and ravines, made turbid Kuman rivers and lakes, dried out Kuman streams and marshes. Like a tornado, he seized Khan Kobiak from amongst his great iron regiments on the shore of the Azov sea bay. And Kobiak fell in the city of Kiev, in the hall of Prince Sviatoslav. Now the Germans and the Venetians, the Greeks and the Moravians sing the glory of Prince Sviatoslav."

special: it’s like a tower of the sea, it has a slow attack and movement, but its large range enables it to protect a late game fishing fleet from small raiding parties, ideal for protecting your late game fishing fleet. It fires 3 arrows. It is bad for raiding because of its slow ROF and movement speed. It fires normal arrows and does very little damage to buildings
Historical Significance: These sturdy ships (Lodyas) were used by the Russians on the Volga, Don and Dnepr Rivers plus the Baltic, Black, Azov and Caspian Seas from about 800-1250 AD. In 907 AD the duke of Kiev, Prince Oleg Orvarddi attacked Constantinople with a fleet of 2000 of these ships and 80,000 warriors. Prince Oleg forced the emperor to sue for peace and gained a valuable trade treaty plus 1,500,000 grivnas ( worth in todays money approx. US $35-50 million) in tribute. Oleg demanded that they should give to the. troops on the two thousand ships twelve grivnas per bench, and. pay in addition the sums required for the various Russian cities: first Kiev, then Chernigov, Pereiaslavl, Polotzk, Rostov, Liubech, Novgorod, Pskov, and the other cities. In these cities lived princes who were vassals of Oleg.

Russian UTT:
benefit: every house you have within 15 tiles of a castle slowly gives you gold.
Historical Significance: The Russian princes were very effective when collecting taxes. They were able to collect enough money to tribute to the Tartars and still put some away for their secret army that would ultimately liberate Russia.
Wonder: Kremlin
Historical Significance: Yeah, you can figure this one out for your self.
The russians have a pretty full tech tree and i think they might be kinda too powerfull. The Bogatyr can easily be taken down by a pike, but its huge attack makes it a good unit to wipe up non infantry units quickly(imagine it with the persians team bonus).
