A GUIDE TO CHINA BY DABOTTLE

In this guide I will cover all the aspects of China for RUSH games.
Unique Traits
Units
Shipments
A Few Strategies

China has many unique traits
  • Villages: 200 wood houses with 20 population. These are much better as they have improvements for population, can garrison villagers and train + fatten livestock.
  • Banner armies: Chinese armies train in groups called banner armies which give you two units: xbow-pike, xbow heavy cav etc
  • Consulate: All Asian civs have them but it’s still unique considering China have German allies that give you trickles, Skirms, Uhlans, Dops and Heavy Cannon.
  • Disciples: The Chinese Monk can train Disciples; these are like war dogs but function as Light Infantry such as coyote runners.
  • Villager Shipments: China’s Villager shipments give you 1 villager per village and Town Centre
  • Wonders:The Porcelain Tower, Summer Palace, White Pagoda,Confucian Academy and Temple of Heaven.

    UNITS

China’s units are very unique such as the Cku-ko-nu’s 3 arrows and Steppe Riders, which are like mini Oprichniks.

    Cku-ko-nu
This guy will be your main unit in age 2. He comes with 2 shipments; 8 Cku-ko-nu and Mandarin Duck Squad (8 Cku-ko-nu + a Flamethrower [500 food]). He also comes with 2 banner Armies, Old Han (3 Cku-ko-nu + 3 Qiang Pikes) and Standard (3 Cku-ko-nu + 2 Steppe Riders)
Like all LI* he has a bonus v LC and HI and a negative v HC and LI
He has 4 improvement shipments, Standard Army Hitpoints (10% Hitpoints for Cku-ko-nu + Steppe Riders [age2]), Repelling volley (10% attack and higher bonus against HI and LC [age3]), Western reforms (all units 8% attack and Hitpoints [age4]) and Old Han Reforms (Cku-ko-nu + Qiang Pike 100% attack and 50% Hitpoints + 50% cost [age 4 1000 food])
Last but not least he is unique in the way that he fires 3 5 damage arrows each shot

    Base Stats:

    Hitpoints: 90
    Resistance: .20 Ranged
    Speed: 4.5
    Attack:
    Ranged: 5(x3), 2x HI 2x LC 0.75x HC/LI
    Melee: 3, 2x HI2x LC 0.75 x HC/LI
    Siege: 6
    Cost: 85 food

    Qiang Pikeman:
He will be your primary anti-cav in age 2 and he comes with 2 armies; Ming (3 Qiang Pikemen and 2 Keskiks) and Old Han army (3 Qiang Pikemen and 3 Cku-ko-nu).
He has a shipment of 9 of him in age 2 and 3 improvement shipments in age 4, Western Reforms (8% attack and hitpoints for all units), Old Han Reforms (Cku-ko-nu and Qiang Pikeman attack + 100% and hp + 50% for + 50 % cost [1000 food]) and Manchu Combat (Qiang Pikeman, Changdao Swordsman and Iron Flail attack + 15%)
He doesn’t work against LI because ES lowered his attack but didn’t increase his bonus against LI but he works against cavalry like all pikes.(For forumers who don't read)

    Base Stats:

    Hitpoints:105
    Resistance:10% Melee
    Speed:5
    Attack:
    Melee:7 Cav x 5 LI x 2.25
    Siege:30
    Cover Melee:3.5 Cav x5 LI x 2.25
    Cover Siege:15
    Cost: 60 Wood

    Steppe Rider:
He will be your hand cavalry in age 2 and your raider all game.
He has 3 shipments in age 2 and 1 improvement shipment in age 4.
In age 2 he has a shipment of 7 Steppe Riders, a shipments that gives him a bonus versus villagers and higher siege (Mongolian Scourge) and 10% hitpoints (Standard Army Hitpoints)
He comes with just 1 army, the Standard army (2 Steppes and 3 cku-ko-nu)
In age 3 you get access to the Iron Flail and Meteor Hammer so he will be use as a mini Oprichnik then.
He is a pretty good unit, but use him like you would you an Oprichnik once you reach age 3.

    Base Stats:

    Hitpoints: 150
    Resistance: .30 Ranged
    Speed: 6.8
    Attack:
    Melee:
    15, 2x Infantry 0.5x HI
    Siege: 25
    Cost: 85 Coin

You go to the store and buy one.

Can either find one on the net, or make your own by hitting the Print Scrn button, and pasting it into MSPaint or what have you, and then cropping out everything else.

Don't just link it from somewhere else. Create a photobucket account and host all your images on your own account.

You should get some unit pictures too, since China has so many special units (in terms of pictures). You can find them at some variation of the hanson family website (link is somewhere in Murdilator's portugal thread).

Great start dude! I see you're lazy like me and didn't do the whole thing in one go

Here is a link to the Whole Reference Guide of AOE3, TWC, and TAD:

    http://allthingsmiscellaneous.110mb.com/index_files/Downloads/Files/HTML copies/AOE3 TWC TAD Quick Reference.htm

To find cards, scroll down to MNBob's Online Tables, or if you are lazy (shame on YOU!) Just click this link to get to the cards:

    http://www.hanson-family.ws/aoe3/tad/XPAztec_cardlist.html

    This link for the Units:

    http://www.hanson-family.ws/aoe3/tad/units_tad.html

And this link for the Buildings:

    http://www.hanson-family.ws/aoe3/tad/buildings_tad.html

The link for the techs doesn't seem to work, nor do Xentelian's On-line Tables.

You can use these links (http://www.hanson-family.ws/aoe3/tad/etc.) instead of photobucket and other programs like it. Afterwards, what you do, is just click and drag the picture onto the place where you type in website names (above your toolbar), and it will give you what you need of the information about that picture. Copy that, copy the link onto your post and put [ img ] tags around it. That will give you the picture.

    Hope I helped some!

    regards,

I suggest you put the pics above the name, or below it, not to the side of it.
