Hello all,


I recently looked around for this file, and believe it has been accidentally lost on the Heavengames database.

This is the Windows Version of AOE3Ed.


Disclaimer: I am not the author of this file, and mean only to re-post an invaluable resource for future modders.

AoE3Ed v0.9 - Preview Release

This version of AoE3Ed consists of two programs:
ArchiveViewer.exe - browse BAR files, and extract individual data files.
FileConverter.exe - convert between DDT and TGA, and between XMB and XML.

FileConverter can either be run normally, in which case it will ask for you to
select files to convert, or else it can be run by dragging files from Windows
Explorer and dropping onto the program's icon. (Be aware that Windows may
impose a limit on how many files can be simultaneously dragged.)

Future releases will hopefully have more interesting, informative and
insightful documentation.

Includes two programs: ArchiveViewer and FileConverter

Use this to extract from .bar files in the Program Files, either sound, art bar, or unit tactics, or homecities, and use the .xml/.xmb convertor to conver them to .xml so that you can modify them, and back into .xmb so that the game will read them.

Homecity.xml files and Sound.xml files do not need to be reconverted into .xmb to be read by the game. You can copy in your extracted files for numbers behind the homecity cards, or sounds for new units/buildings and they will work fine.



Note: I haven't been able to find AOE3Ed on Heavengames currently, so if there is already a version up for Windows, post here.
