This is a very impressive piece of work indeed, truly unique out of the campaigns that I have played.

The playability is mediocore. You have to travel over long distances, which is quite boring. Also, the excitement resides in several specific events instead of spread out in the entire scenario, which is also bad. However, aside from these two things, everything was very good.

The balance was very good. You have to utilize your forces effectively to win. However, I found some battles to be too harsh and some bugs prevented half of the reinforcements from showing up, making the battle close to impossible the first time.

The creativity is excellent. I don't think I've given a 5 in this area for a very long time now, so this is definitely worthy of attention. I have never saw a scenario simulating the Old West so effectively and utlized so many things. Definitely standard of excellence in this area.

The map design was great. Rarely has anyone put so much attention to the details of map design in a scenario. The map had loads of eye-candy and the terrain had multiple types of trees (which is very realistic) and in general, it looked very much like the Old West. Also standard of excellence in this area.

The story was pretty dumb, a macho-guy wanting to own a farm and saves the day all over the place (which is highly illogical and doesn't seem impressive at all). However, accompanied with good instructions, the score of 4 is good.

+ Points

-Creative scenario designing
-Excellent map design

- Points

-Have to travel long distances
-Really dumb story

Final Thoughts: An excellent scenario that I have the honor of reviewing. You should download it and try it. It will be great.
KyleT_8 This sounds great! I live in Wyoming, and I love practically anything to do with our great American West. Unfortunately, I don't have the Conquerers expansion. Could you or someone else PLEASE make something along these lines for AOK? I'm sure I'm not he only one who would enjoy it. Thanks!

Penitence City by xavill --Storyline-- You are a cowboy name Joe that wants to buy a ranch from a woman. Soon to find out, Joe cannot afford the ranch. Joe must find work in Penitence City in order to buy the ranch...

Playability-- This is a very fun scenario! I saw only a few very small spelling errors in this scenario, which I will not deduct from the score. Even though you are mainly doing side quests throughout the whole scenario, it has a certain "fun" aspect that makes it fun to play over and over again.
+Plus Points+
¤ Fun and exciting side quests
¤ No bugs
-Minus Points-
¤ Small spelling errors

Score-- 5.0

Balance-- This scenario had almost perfect balance. Some parts were easier than others, and others harder. I managed to get by and stay alive. The west truly is rough... this was an actually ok catagory. The Eagle Warriors were a great challenge to overcome with a simple conquistador. But when I ran into too many of them was when I was in trouble. Some battles were one sided because the enemys had no way of killing your unit.
+Plus Points+
¤ Challenging battles
-Minus Points-
¤ At many parts, the enemy cannot attack your unit, which increases your chances for victory
¤ Veterans might find some of this fairly easy
Score-- 4.0

Creativity-- This is a very creative scenario. The part that I love most about this scenario is that it takes place in the old west, and it has many aspects of the real old west. Desert, wild indian wars, and even gun showdowns. I think the Conquistador is the perfect unit for a cowboy, now that I remember the old story books and television shows. And many of the side quests you had to do to obtain money were very creative, such as delivering messages, escourting a bunch of women across the desert, and hunting down a fugitive in deep, dark mines full of bandits.
+Plus Points+
¤ Creative "Old West" map style
¤ Great realistic attributes (this seemed very realistic, like it actually happened)
¤ Side Quests creativity (exciting side quests)
-Minus Points-
¤ None
Score-- 5.0

Map Design-- This map is not only perfect for the story, but it has a beautiful aspect to it that makes it pure eye candy. It would be perfect and match the story as if somebody was to make a future type story. If the map had a futuristic feel, then it would match the storyline. The mix of terrain on the normal land, the underground mines, and the giant, bleak desert were probably my favorite parts of this map. It looks like the author took his time on making this map perfect for both the storyline and pleasing to the player's eye.
+Plus Points+
¤ Storyline matches the map
¤ Great map design
-Minus Points-
¤ None
Score-- 5.0

Story/Instructions-- This scenario had very useful hints, and has somewhat of a storyline. A little more info on the main character would have been nice, and maybe a little story on why he wanted to buy the ranch. The only parts that have to do with the ranch are the first and last parts (when you begin the scenario, and when you end the scenario).
+Plus Points+
¤ Very useful hints
¤ Instructive objectives
-Minus Points-
¤ Little and almost no beggining story
¤ Little character information
Score-- 4.0

Final Thoughts-- This is a great scenario, with many side quests on it you can enjoy. It looks as if the author tried hard to make his campaign great, and in my eyes, he was victorious. If the author has any questions/concerns about my review, feel free to e-mail me at darkaro1300@hotmail.com

Playability: 5
This was a really fun and creative scenario. I have always loved the Wild West. The scenario was very fun and exciting. There were fun and exciting side quests along with big battles with the armies.

Balance: 5
This scenario had perfect balance. Some parts were easier than others and others harder. I only just managed to get by and stay alive. The west truly is rough... this was an actually ok category. The Enemy were hard to overcome with a simple conquistador. But when I ran into too many of them that was when I was in trouble.

Creativity: 5
I haven't seen a Wild West scenario before so when i saw this I just had to download it and see. The mine was a great idea and all of the mini side quests were very creative, getting back a sacred axe, transporting a caravan of women across the desert, working with the Sheriff, etc. I also thought the idea of dying if you run out of water in the desert was great too.

Map Design: 5
This map is not only perfect for the story, but it has a beautiful aspect to it that makes it pure eye candy. The Whole map looks very much like the American West, with the Natives and deserts. The mix of terrain on the normal land, the underground mines, and the giant, bleak desert were great.

Story/Instructions: 5
This scenario had very useful hints, and has a great a storyline. A little more info on the main character would have been nice, and maybe a little story on why he wanted to buy the ranch but I don't think that this is enough to bring the rating to a 4. The instructions were very clear too.
