When I left home at age 14, I had four goals in life. To discover the secret of happiness. To find my true father. To make 10,000 posts on the Age of Kings Heaven forum. To find a cure for my crippling erectile disfunction.
I am now within a hair's breadth of accomplishing one of those goals.
With my post count now sitting at 9999, I kind of feel like I should be moving on, so I've decided not to post at AoKH any more. I'll make one final post to say goodbyes and whatnot, and after that I'll be leaving forever. I'm not upset or depressed, I'm not pulling a Simfish, this is just what I feel to be the right decision. All good things must come to an end. Bad things, too, which is why I urge Aro and Morgoth to get an annulment at the next convenient opportunity.
I truly feel terrible writing this self-important crap, like I'm Elvis Presley instead of some random dumbass on a gaming forum. Rest assured that I do not expect anyone to care about me leaving, nor am I fishing for compliments. But if you want to say goodbye, or say anything else, feel free to post away. Remember, this is YOUR thread (actually it's mine, but you can pretend it's yours if you want), and like I said, I still have one post left to make.
"wild ride", to use the popular metaphor. To continue with that metaphor, it is a "wild ride" punctuated by "pitfalls" and "landmines" and "designer jockstraps", (still speaking metaphorically, remember) while "Hitler" "massages" the "nipples" of "schoolgirls". I'm sure you understand what I mean.
Here, in chronological order, is my history.
1999: I get AoK.
2000: I get The Conquerors
2003: I sign up for these forums.
Initially, my childish antics are disliked, and many forumers wish that I would put my head into an oven. For reference, my greatest hits arethe infamous turtling thread, the "I'm an Oldie" thread, and a poem I wrote about a forum troll called ModRocker that ended up backfiring on me horribly.
2004: I begin writing reviews for the Blacksmith. Many are rejected, but in the course of a year I have almost 100 reviews approved.
Late 2004: in response to taunts that I don't play the game, I sign up for the Zone and play a couple dozen ladder games (I'll be buggered if I can find the ladder thread now). I also play rated, and end up with a score that can be described as "significantly lower than average". Still, I made some friends and had some fun memories.
2005: I leave AoKH to play another game. I still visit from time to time, though.
2007-8 I make a mini-comeback, and start posting actively again. I also design several campaigns, which receive positive feedback.
And now...the end.
Thanks to everyone on the AoKH forums. You were all a big part of my life for many years. I will hold all of your in my heart forev...HOLY SHIT POWERPUFF GIRLS IS ON TV!!! BRB
