This is my most interesting update up to date. Tardy to make it to Christmas, "uncomplete" of the wonder section, yet varied. If you notice, I've been scrambling a trifle with the contents squeezing a two new areas to list links in: "Points of Interest" section and the "Enigma Investigation". The "Points of Interest" section is all about noteworthy scenes but also can be used as a tool of inspiration off the facts. As regards to the "Enigma Investigation", it is simply a highly comtemplative inquiry and notice on a mystery essential for solving. At a smaller scope, the mongolian boy and girl names have been exchanged for its "index", categorized by subject. As for the wonders, 15 out 18 have been identified, whereas the "Enigma Investigation" is already active now -- I'm asking for the other 3. The layout of wonder identification is similar to the heroes' section:...<Civilization who owns the wonder>
Wonder: The wonders name along with alternatives.
Generally:A basic identification. Includes notable attributes
Link:Links to link to for more research
Quote:Quotes from other sites on vital parts pertaining to the wonder.Making it even more lopsided, 4 new links have been connected to, pertaining to names, terms, and languages. Who might be "Age of Kings Curiosities"'s contender? The "Point of Interest" has something rather tremendous: it's "The 'Did You Know?' Collection". A whopping 100 facts have been loaded onto The Research Treasury, some a whole paragraph, others a sentence long. Although it has no "link value", it certainly elogates The Research Treasury! If you ask what's left, check below near the top of the first post. It's a quote from Ingo van Thiel. Last but certainly not the least, I hope you had a Merry Chistmas and have a Happy New Year.Sunday, December 08, 2002
I haven't done many updates as before but for all of you who ponder exactly who were the heroes, it's been worth the wait. Every single individual hero has been identified and has at least one link for further research. Here's the layout......<Hero's Name>
Generally:A basic identification. Includes notable attributes
Note:Note the Hero's alternative names and where to find information
Link:Links to link to for more research
Quote:Quotes from other sites on vital parts pertaining to the hero. What once was an helpful aid in the dead AOK Cartographer has now been revived! In addition, two mongol sites have been added in the "Extra Details" for great mongol names.
What was once nothing is now the largest section there is in The Research Treasury! Happy Researching! Also, please answer the new poll.
Friday, November 29, 2002
From the first day, the treasury has been squared to 64! That makes an incredible 40 links added to the collection.
Also since there much websites for researching the civilizations in AOK, I've decided to drop the "Medieval Life" and "Civilization Specific" Categories for five brand new subcategories. These include:
The Medieval Ring: Here, most notable medieval activity happened here. This category I made includes the civilizations within the region of the Iberian pennisula to the British Isles to Scandanavia to Urkraine and eventually Constantinople. This includes most Western European civilizations as well as the Byzantines and some Eastern European civilizations
The Civilized Orient This includes the relatively developed civilizations of the Orient such as the Chinese, Japanese, Koreans, some Indian tribes, etc.
The Western Asians By western, I mean close to the European/African border. This includes Slovians, and civilizations within Namestan, the Middle East, Caucasia and Trancaucasia.
The Pariahs of the Medieval World.Pariahs can pratically be connoted as barbarians in this section. Civilizations such as the Huns, Goths, Germanic Tribes, Aztecs, Mayas, Skraelings(Eskimos Leif Ericson had to fight off),African Tribes. Even though they were once a world power, I include the Mongols in this section because they were originally barbarians.
Warfare and "Worldwide" These include critical events of the Medieval Time as well as wars, swords, siege engines, and arms and armor. Thursday, November 28, 2002
Happy Thanksgiving to all in the US! I've linked up 16 more links for your research!
POLL- Of all the links Heroes section list at least three or two of your favorite links as in most well-rounded.
The five most common favorites within you all's favorites will become the nominees. These will now be labeled NecroNoted.
Then we choose the best of the five for the next poll.

Quote:"A more memorable and clearly authentic monument of Theodoric is furnished by his tomb, a massive mausoleum which stands still perfect outside the walls near the north-east corner of the city. It is circular internally and decagonal externally, in two storeys, built of marble blocks, and surmounted by an enormous monolith brought from the quarries of Istria and weighing more than 300 tons. The plan is no doubt derived from that of a Romar tomb. In this mausoleum Theodoric was buried, but his bod) was cast forth from it, perhaps during the troublous times o~ the siege of Ravenna by the imperial troops, and the Rotundi (as it is now generally called) was converted into a churci dedicated to the Virgin. " -1911 Encyclopedia on Ravenna"Tomb of Theodoric; Ravenna, Italy (526 AD)
A. Tomb of a barbarian (Ostrogothic King Theodoric) who became a Christian
B. Massive, somber structure of ashlar masonry of large blocks topped by a monolithic cupola
C.Two-storied interior-a cruciform chamber below, circular above-corresponds to a ring of blind arches surmounted by a narrower cylindrical story
D. Eclectic synthesis: two-storied form is late Roman (but also seen in Syria, as was the cross-shaped chamber; Syria was the only place in this period that had workmen versed in the technique of massive ashlar construction; the enormous dome reflects the tradition of the stone-covered tombs of Theodoric’s ancestors" -Texas Tech University: College of Architecture: ARCH 2312.001: History of Ancient through Baroque Architecture:Lecture 7 Outline: Early Christian and Byzantine ArchitectureHUNS

In response, the Nubians gathered an army of 100,000 men and successfully repulsed the Arabs so that "the Muslims had never suffered a loss like the one they had in Nubia." A peace treaty or Baqt was signed although ten years later the Nubians had conquered Upper Egypt capturing Aswan and Philae and the Arabs retaliated by laying siege to Dongola, the Makurian capital.
