The Forge was previously hosted by Leif Ericson, but as he stepped down from moderating the SD&M Forums to make way for some new cherubs, the baton was passed to me.

The Byzantine Empire was in shambles in 1081. A decade after Manzikert, it couldn't prevent all of Anatolia to fall to the Turkic invaders, it was going through a big economic crisis and corruption and political intrigue plagued the bureaucracy, as the nobility fought each other for the title of emperor. This is a campaign about how a dynasty fought to restore an empire that everyone assumed was about to disappear. This is the story of the Komnenian Restoration, the last golden age of the Byzantine Empire. | ||||

There are two ways to post your project in The Forge. The first is to make a post in this thread with the project name, project type (scenario, campaign, modpack, etc.), genre/style, percentage complete, and a description of the project. We'll compile the information and add your project to The Forge (no format needed!). The mods will also be actively perusing the forum, keeping watch for new or updated projects. A second way to post your project is simply to create a project thread that contains the information needed, and we'll add it to The Forge. If you project lacks some information, such as the percentage complete, we will add your project to The Forge, but some of the details will be shown as unknown (???). So, add that information to your thread!
Do not post information about a project you've already finished, or which you'll finish in a day or two, just for advertising. Post
Do not post information about projects you know you're not going to finish. If you post a project, people will be expecting to see it finished. Although some projects are inevitabely cancelled because of various reasons from the designer, we do not want to encourage people making half-done projects that won't be finished.
Why do all the projects have their names in blue or red colors? Here's your answer:

Light Blue:
Dark Blue:
Red:
Maroon:
When a project has been up for three months without getting a single update from the designer they will be given a High Latency Tag, looking like this:
Some exceptions might be made with projects that the designer has admitted will be taking loads of time to complete, which they continue to work on but don't feel the need of updating with every percent in this thread. Projects like these will have a High Latency Tag, but will not be removed when the three months expire.
If you are an active forummer and your project goes six months without an update, one of the mods will likely email you to see if you want your project to remain in The Forge. If you can beat us to it and send us an email first stating that you wish your project to remain in the Forge, that would be quite helpful.
Since the maximum upload size at the Blacksmith used to be 48MB, there have been many designers who decided to upload sound files to an alternate website to save space. However, over time these links became dead, and these sound files may be lost. However, if you happen to have the sound files to
