In this tutorial I shall teach you how to make stuff placeable everywhere. Whether it is a unit or a building, or even eye candy, this easy article shall help you out.

After this tutorial you can say goodbye to the map copy tool in the terrains section. :p

Oh and one more thing, this requires UserPatch v1.2 or higher.

So let’s get started.

First thing you have to do, is create (or edit) a scenario. There is a certain command which allows access to the placement of, as I previously mentioned, any Stuff.

The command is ctrl+s

The command itself has three different stages. The more you press that command, the different stage it shall give.

The First Stage

Pressing the command once will make it off-grid.

The Second Stage

The second stage is the most useful in my opinion, it can make the game easier to design and it all can lead to awesome tricks, such as placing a dock in the land, placing a building in another building, or stacking.

This is an example of what you can do with the command (the command wotks for vanilla and FE, probably somewhere else too, but I unfortunatly haven’t tried that yet:)

This is the stacking example from John the Late’s screenshot:

The Third Stage

The third stage makes the placement normal as usual.

.. And that is it! Easy as 1 2 3! This article might be useful for scenario designiners. I hope you learned something. If not, oh well. :D
