Well, first of all, we must remember that Chariots get a free Medium Chariots Upgrade when in Heroic....and that by this time, the Toxotes will probably have this upgrade aswell.
Lets test it 1 Chariot vs 1 Toxote So, clearly the Chariot is more than twice as strong as the Toxote...but, with its +4 Range, it managed to get 8 Chariots is worth 12 Toxotes (Pop-wise). However, it really depended on whether all of the toxotes reacted to the arrow fire at first, or whther half of them did with the other half joining the fight about 3 seconds later. 8 Chariots vs 12 Toxotes: So, the Toxotes do Now, with all Medium, Heavy and Champion Upgrades AND Copper/Bronze/Iron Upgrades... 8 Chariots vs 12 Toxotes: WOW! So with all regular Upgrades, the Toxotes almost level with their pop-worth of Chariots - even though they are half the Wood Price! For the last Archer comparison, I will use: Now this is incredible!! The Chariots now have +9 Range than the Toxotes, and manage to kill 2 of them before they can even retaliate! It seems that +10% HP and +4 Range is more effective than +45% Attack! Now, we only have one more thing to test - their ability to counter Infantry. Lets try them vs some Hoplites to see which coutner Infantry better. Again, we'll use 24 Pop for each side: 8 Chariots vs 12 Hoplites (With Medium Upgrades and Bronze Upgrades): 12 Toxotes vs 12 Hoplites (With Heavy Upgrades and Bronze Upgrades): And, now Fully Upgraded Units: 8 Chariots vs 12 Hoplites (With Champion Upgrades and Iron Upgrades): 12 Toxotes vs 12 Hoplites (With Champion Upgrades and Iron Upgrades): And lastly, with all Myth Techs: Even Hades' best Archer God Path can't outperform Ra's Sekhemet Chariots. Thankyou. [This message has been edited by Quircus (edited 03-15-2004 @ 12:37 PM).]

So we can see that the Chariots are really worth their pop slots in terms of stats and power. Now it's time to see what happens with the Copper Upgrades:

Well, the Hoplites win in all cases due to no Meatshield being used. As we can see, the Chariots fair better in all cases. Chariots outperform Toxotes moreso with less upgrades rather than with all upgrades. But, as we saw, Bone Bow is a
