A Guide to Rheia
Rheia, the goddess of fertility. One of the 3 Atlantean Heroic Age god choices.
To get Rheia, you must either be Kronos or Gaia.
First, lets look at Rheia’s god power.
Traitor:
Can be used twice. Affects one unit. Gain control of the selected unit. Cool down time: 4:00
Lets look at the effects of traitor:
Tests- note that upgrades will be stated.
1.Traitor is used on an ulfsark with 80 hp. Its hp becomes 68/80.
12/80 hp gone. 85% of total health.
2.Traitor is used on a colossus with 1100 hp. Its hp becomes 935/1100.
165/1100 hp gone. 85% of total health
3.Traitor is used on a fire giant with 600 hp. Its hp becomes 510/600.
90/600 hp gone. 85% of total health
4.Traitor is used on a fully upgraded colossus (shoulder and hand of talos) with 1500 hp. Its hp becomes 935/1100.
165/1100 hp gone. 85% of total health
5.Traitor is used on a colossus with 108/1100 hp.
Its hp becomes… 935/1100. 108 hp gained.
From these results, we can determine that:
A)The affected unit will not have the upgrades it had before.* (Collosus loses hand and shoulder of talos.)
B)The affected unit will have 85% of its original health, whether gaining or losing.
C)Traitor can be used on any unit, exluding heroes, titans, and villagers. Traitor cannot be used on rocs or transports… Wow, that would make it quite overpowered…
A pretty useful godpower indeed, yet, it is perhaps a bit underpowered for a heroic age god power. Also, note that traitor does affect longboats, and that the units automatically are ungarrisoned. If there is no land for them to ungarrison on, they ungarrison into the sea. (they are dead!)
Uses:
A)Use on an opponent’s myth unit. Quite obvious, since you can target a very good myth unit like a colossus, avenger, petsuchos, etc. to use against your opponents army.
B)Use on opponent’s siege. This can be used near your opponent’s base to use his own siege against him.
C)This use may not be that useful, but if you want to save time, just use it on an ulfsark/throwing axeman/huskarl, amd you instantly get a forward builder.
D)Use on a norse longboat with transports inside.
Next, on to the mu.
Rheia’s Myth Units:
The Behemoth:
270 Food, 18 favour with kronos
300 Food, 20 favour with gaia
Population: 5
Hack Damage: 6
Crush Damage: 12
Damage x.5 vs Heros
Damage x3 vs Myth units
Damage x5 vs Buildings
HP: 550
Hack Armor: 30%
Pierce Armor: 75%
Crush Armor: 80%
Speed: 3.0 meters/second
Line of Sight: 16
Training Time: 20
Special: Regeneration: 1 hp per second. This rate is not affected if the unit is moving!
In other words, a slow siege myth unit, much like the scarab. It gets a small bonus vs myth units and a huge bonus vs buildings, so use it against them (most mus overpower the behemoth too…). Do not use the behemoth against heroes, as like all myth units, it dies horribly. It has quite a high cost in pop, food and favour, and only use it if you really need to in heroic. It works well with kronos rush though, since you need a good siege unit to finish your opponent off. With gaia, the behemoth can be better than the stymphalian bird or satyr if you need an early siege unit instead of an uber raider/support mu.
Here is a test just for those who wonder: Who will win Scarab vs Behemoth? Behemoth gets bonuses against mus and regeneration too! Well, the scarab wins with 95/670 health. Kind of odd that the scarab wins, eh?
Rheia’s Techs:
Rheia’s techs benefit favour generation, as well as archers.
Mail of Orichalkoss
Archers have -10% hack vulnerability. (In other words, plus 8% hack armour)
Cost: 200 gold, 15 favour
This makes archers a bit better against cavalry, and makes them a bit stronger against infantry as well. A useful tech if you plan to use archers a lot. It is fairly cheap as well.
Horns of Consecration
+10% gathering rate for favour
Cost: 200 gold
A useful tech if you need a lot of favour for myth units or certain upgrades. Fairly cheap and worth the price if you have a lot of gold. Get it if you need a lot if favour.
Rheia’s Gift
Mythological/Minor God improvements cost 25% less favour.
Cost: 175 food, 175 gold
An okay tech, a little more expensive than expected, but can be useful if you get this tech before the other mythological techs, as you save yourself a lot of favour. Get it if you can spare the resources. Otherwise, don’t bother.
Summary: Constructive criticism accepted, flames not accepted. My second guide... so how was it? Tell me your comments! Check out my hyperion guide here: EDIT: Behemoth vs 1 upgraded house: Scarab vs 1 unupgraded house: 117 damage per hit. Not very surprising. Lets try the same thing vs a hillfort (no upgrades) Behemoth vs 1 unupgraded hillfort 117 damage per hit. Scarab vs 1 unupgraded hillfort exact same damage and timing. Not very surprising. To be exactly fair in the match between the scarab and the behemoth, i will try to provide a mathematical explanation. Behemoth does 20 damage per hit. Scarab takes 20 damage per hit. Every hit about 1.3 seconds. Regeneration time is about 1hp per second. So: scarab has 670 hp so should die in 670/20=33.5 hits rounded to 34. Behemoth has 550 hp. 550/20=27.2 hits rounded to 28 hits. + 28 (this is at the regeneration time of 1hp/second)so the behemoth really has the equivalent of 578 hp. 578hp vs 670 hp- who will win? scarab. According to this, that means that the scarab also has a hidden x3 multiplyer against myth units since it does the EXACT same damage to the behemoth as the behemoth does to it. All in all, rheia is an okay minor god choice. Her myth unit, the behemoth, is pretty horrible, …even more so that the satyr in my opinion…, unless used as siege (where it pwns!), but its expensive price make it difficult to get. Her upgrades are great if you plan to use a lot of myth units, or intend to make a lot of archers rather than cavalry. Her god power, traitor, is also fairly useful, if used on siege or myth units, especially near your opponents base
In depth explanation of scarab vs behemoth match and why scarab won.
house destroyed in 4.5 seconds.
117 damage per hit.
house destroyed in 4.5 seconds.
fort destroyed in 23.8 seconds.
fort destroyed in 23.8 seconds
The major difference is probably that the scarab has more hitpoints. 120 more to be exact.
