How to make a bridge!
bridges are a nice piece of Eyecandy. some people might know how to make a bridge but i'll made this guide to help people that don't know

what You need:

Aom The Titans
New X Editor
- which you can download now---
http://aom.heavengames.com/downloads/showfile.php?fileid=1746&ci=ea3cb4dd85cf
___________________________________________________________

First up by making a river or a black rock line like this

then put down about 4/5 "wall long" on each side.
now press objects then press position objects not position object

then click on a wall and press the looped arrow and make it flat like this

do that to all of the wall pieces. now since you can't just walk on walls so go to terrain then paint land

if you are just using black rock just paint terrain.
(black rock or any other terrain like cliff is easier to make a bridge with)
now move all the wall pieces on the painted land.
now get four more long walls and move them to the sides like this

now its time for extras like wall connecter and a gate or two...
final product

and the final product with black rock

or

you can produce better scenes than this with just a little bit of imagination

Hope Youve Enjoyed my Guide By Sorceror Of Erebus

can units walk over the bridge? I mean, aren't the wall segments on the ground in the way?

nice guide, maybe you can put more details on how to make bridges with trojan walls

and yes, units can walk over it, articwind7 found that out.

Good information and the guide looks nice because of all the pictures- not many guide writers take the time to make and include pictures unfortunately. Nice job Erebus! I have a question though:

I got Reyk's Titan editor add-on but the flip object tool looks different than the one depicted in this guide. My problem is that to make things "lean down" you have to start and stop the movement with a click of a button, but the settings are too coarse and I can never stop the wall exactly when it's flat. Is there a way to make the movement slower or to use keystrokes for fine adjustment?

I made a nice bridge too (using walls of Troy) and will include it in my cinematic for the contest.

Nah I can position stuff using the keyboard with excellent fine control. Come to think of it, I can rotate from the keyboard too. It's just that I can't lay the walls perfectly flat. By the time the damn thing starts spinning, and I race my mouse pointer to the stop icon, it goes too far.

Hey Sorceror Erebus, could you post this article over at www.tsuniversity.com? That'd be great if you could.

Looks cool

can units walk over it?

Very nice. I have a question though. Can you use triggers to change the ground and move objects? If this can be done, maybe you can even make an animation with the bridge extending when a unit gets close to it, and then the bridge is withdrawn.

And the answer is no.

A condition is not a trigger.
An effect is not a trigger.
A trigger is a combination of one or more conditions and effects.
It causes effects to happen if and when conditions are met.
Period.

If you have a scroller on your mouse, hit the unit with it.
