One way to Spawn at the last entered village
by Kjelli

First Village:

Trigger 1:
Active:X
Loop :X
R. I. :X

Condition: Army Distance to unit
Army:"Main Hero"
Target units:Town center
Operator : <=
Distance :10

Effect: Quest var set
Var Name: Spawn location
Value: 1

Second village:

Trigger 2:
Active:X
Loop :X
R. I. :X

Condition: Army Distance to unit
Army:"Main Hero"
Target units:Town center
Operator : <=
Distance :10

Effect: Quest var set
Var Name: Spawn location
Value: 2

Third village:

Trigger 3:
Active:X
Loop :X
R. I. :X

Condition: Army Distance to unit
Army:"Main Hero"
Target units:Town center
Operator : <=
Distance :10

Effect: Quest var set
Var Name: Spawn location
Value: 3

Now let's see, If you die, and the last place will be the first village, make it like this:

Trigger 4:
Active:X
Loop :X
R. I. :X

Condition: Army Is Dead
Source units: "Main Hero"

Condition: Quest var Check
Var name:Spawn Location
Operator:==
Value :1

Optional Condition: Timer
Timer: 2

Effect: Army destroy
Army: "Main Hero"

Effect: Army Deploy
Army: "Main Hero"
Set Area: In front of the town center

Now you have learned how to make one of your units(Main hero in RPGs) spawn in the last entered village.

-Kjelli

Edit: *Updated Version works better*

That's basically just a normal use of QVs, I'm sorry... Glad someone uses it though .

Theris, don't add anything. Someday noone will look through the endless list any more then...

Not bad. I never use QVs though. There are just some things you don't like and no matter how useful they are, you just don't want to use them

You don't use them, Guardian . But many people have done so already, and they know that they were worth to be learnt (it's actually even pretty easy). They're extremely powerful.

What's so powerful about QVs? What is so important that they can do that others can not?

If you get to know them, you'll see, ArcticWind7

I definitely agree. You cannot judge them when you don't know them, but you would see it if you learnt them... So I don't bother to give examples, sorry.

EDIT: One is this thread though, for example. Although it's a very simple application of QVs.

the people who dont like Qvs is because the either dont have AoM: TT, or they just dont know how to use them.

@Guardian, there are several guides for this(hint: my siggy). Use the search engine and you will find even more guides and ideas you create.

^lol!

I admit I find them confusing, however I'm sure I could easily learn them, after all I'm probably the only designer here who's never read a single guide- I learned everything through experience and testing.

But I'm just not keen to learn them. Plus I have some modding to learn.

Well there are more...as for one I am.....and probably a whole lot of guys more.....How do you think those guys wrote those guides ???

Correct answer: By trying out stuff and testing it

Best regards,

The Vandhaal

On some issues I wished I would have read a guide because it would have saved me a whole lot of time

Quest Vars? I never used them, partly because I never bothered to try using them and partly because my maps are usually too basic to require it.

Yea I said that once. Once you learn it, you regret it though.

It's basically like having a notepad in the game and recording everything that happens. Especially the RANDOMING! That is what I love best. Being able to randomize events.

So then you could do stuff like:

WHen you have run out of lives, your hero won't come back to life.

Sometimes the enemy sends 10 units, sometimes 5.

Sure you can place cin blocks and use Units in Area or something but this is basically what QV is. A better way.

And yea - Theris don't add everything. :-/
