Topic Subject: Creating Cool Action Scenes!

The point of this guide is to make really cool action screenies (screenies only). It adds a lot more detail to the screenshot.

1. Set the diplomacy (so the units don't start fighting while you're making the scene).

[JPEG, (218.61 KB)]

2. Create the units. IMO, the best for these shots are usually a group of units all trying to attack a hero/heroes.

3. Set up your animation, for units getting knocked away or stabbed, flail is usually the way to go.

[JPEG, (225.33 KB)]

4. Position your units, rotating etc...

5. Finally, add in your scenery rocks, houses, flowers, villagers etc...

and... some extras that i have made

The last screenie is really cool, the rest is... disgusting .

Nice guide ! Good ideas.

Though I'd first make the scenery and then the "actors".

And use a bit less blood !

well, about the blood thing... people ask me to use more blood! I wouldn't really call the first 3 screenshots disgusting... I think i should have used blood on the last screenshot

I thought up of this first! Waaah!

The ones I made are at my screenie site, but those are cool too. Probably better then mine.

Do they work in the game? Animation Viewer sets the animation but once in the game, I think they revert to default animations. :-/

Nice screens tho.

I think you may have overdone it slightly. Some of those screenies everyone is flying.
Anyway, good job, looks cool.

It's a very good guide.

But I don't really understand what they are doing in the last picture. It seems as though they're all floating. :s
