Ever wanted to scare a player? well heres how! a hidden trap can lure a player into a false sense of security and when its deadlyness strikes they may be too late! this can add to the effect of a game very well so here is my simple guide.

step 1 you need some ground which is a bit off minimum terrain or higher.

step 2 pace as 1 square size hole in the ground.

step 3 place a carnavoria, kraken or argus in the pit bassed on the type of trap you want.

step 4 cover it up with a large flat object, crates do well but you can also use statues

aslong as you cant see the unit beneath.

step 5 add eye candy and turn it into a building the enemy may want to atack( ny little

temple in this case)

and enjoy as enemy troups fall to their demise as they go near to attack it ENJOY!

you could even add a simple trigger which kills the trap unit once it has sprung once.

Ha, very nice idea. I don't think the box needs resizing quite so much though

BTW why have your trees got those squares around them?

Nice idea!
another way to surprise a player is like if they go to a shop or somthing(in rpgs) then you could make it a 'false' shop and when the player wants to buy something either
1. a meteor come down on the player
2. a very powerful enemy comes and the shop gets destroyed
3. the storekeeper turns stronger then you and puts you in a prison (surrounded by a strong wall) for a while

^just some ideas!

may be with modify proto you could perhaps make the trap monster stronger so it doesn't die after 1,2,3,4 etc. attacks. maybe?

ps. btw, the low detaiol trees kinda look cool. might be fun in like, "THE PIXELATED DIMENSION" or somting

also, a trap could be made so when a unit gets close to something, eg; a bunch of ruins, the get surounded by invisable walls, or monsters, or both.

Richygorgan, it seems like bad drivers may be your problem if your hard drive died and nothing else. You can download new drivers from the maker of your video card, which should help alleviate the problem.

^What he said.
I also had this problem. It seems that I had 'SpyWare' on my computer. I bought this thing called SpySweeper and removed spyware and it was better!
For graphics and peformence^look what outlandish said^

Now that could be a problem. See if you can find a CD that came with your videocard, that should have some old drivers at least.
