HOCUS POCUS
An Age of Mythology Heaven Screenshot Contest

In the spirit of Halloween, a new screenshot contest has been launched! Submit a screenshot and get it ranked up against the other screenshots to find out if you are the best eye-candier here! Please participate! It doesn't matter how good you are, just have a good time and enter in the spirit of Halloween.

Theme: All things creepy (Halloween)

Schedule:
October 14 - Contest Launched
October 28 - Screenshots must be submitted by this date
October 29/30 - Public Voting is open
October 31 - Results are posted

Rules/Guidelines:

  • You may only enter 1 custom screenie
  • Screenshots may have custom lightings and mods as long as they are your work. (Don't use someone else's mods) Modding is a very big part of designing and I would like to encourage that. However, 2D mods are not allowed.
  • You may not edit your screenshot in any program outside of the AoM editor (ex: Photoshop, Gimp, etc.)
  • All screenshots must be posted here by the current deadline (October 28, 2006)
  • Screenies must go along with the current theme (Halloween)
  • All screenshots have to have been made after the start of this contest

    Try to take your screenshot with the highest graphics level. If this isn't possible with your computer, I might make another category for lower graphic levels. But, let's hope we can do this with just one category.

    After the deadline, everyone will be allowed to vote for their favorite three screenshots, and the winner will be determined by how many votes his or her screenshot received.

    Prize: Umm, bragging rights? :P

    For anyone who doesn't celebrate Halloween and doesn't know what the holiday is, Halloween is a holiday celebrated with kids (and some adults) dressing up in costums (usually of things like ghouls, fairies, witches, etc.) Halloween is symbolized with the dead and creatures like ghosts and goblins.

    I hate halloween! They made it because they worshiped ghosts and witches on this day, and I'm Christian so... but, I'll have a go

    Yep nice Pepsi...I will see what I can throw togehter and enter also (if nothing gets in between)

    since I am not a Christian or Muslim...or anything of that stuff at all I love the worshipping of Witches, Ghosts and other stuff

    Does the screenie has to be taken with the editor or ingame screenshot function ??...(so the aom logo and stuff is on it) or can you also use the print screen button...for example when you shoot it in cinematic mode ? (because for the last one you have to copy it into a graphics program to save)

    I like the banner guys

    Titan, I wouldn't have made this contest if it would offend people.
    In fact, Halloween is a Christian holiday. Have you ever heard of All Saint's Day? It's a christian festival on Oct 31 where people celebrate and remember those who have died. I'm not sure I have all the facts right, but people were masks and costumes to try to bring back the dead. I also heard that people were masks to scare away the real demons.

    Since then (especially in America) Halloween has become more about haunted houses and candy, but many people still celebrate it as All Saint's Day.

    Yes. I talked to Vandhaal about this on MSN. You can post multiple screenshots but you have to pick one out of those to submit.

    90% of the time I use the print screen button to take screenshots so I'm not going to rule against it. So, you can take a normal screenshot or use print screen and paste it into paint or somewhere. (just don't edit it in that graphics program)

    I'd say that would be very unlikely. Custom titles are reserved for big and very special events, not a common screenshot contest. Secondly, only the exco and maybe a few seraphs have the ability to grant custom titles so it would not be my choice.

    Christmas is just a familie partie were we play boardgames and we make a walk, lol same goes with Easter, oh, and it are the only two days of the year when we have breakfast together
