Most recent skipcheat: "Temptation"
Current map version:
Most recent screenshot:
Having successfully completed the map-design-only scenario, I want to start a new project with you, but this time a playable scenario! It won't be anything too complex - just a linear role playing game.
- THE BEGINNING:
- We start with the map as shown in the screenshot above. It consist of loads of squares. I also added some rivers and seas, to increase the chance that the map will eventually be a whole instead of a load of tiny squares.
- You can all sign up to work on it by posting YOUR EMAILADDRESS in this thread.
- You'll then be added to the Future Designers list below.
- When you're number one on that list, I will send the latest version of the map to you.
- You then have TWO days to work on it.
- You can all sign up to work on it by posting YOUR EMAILADDRESS in this thread.
- SQUARES:
Playtest before you start to add anything. If the most recently added square contains a lot of bugs, tell me and I'll look at it and erase the square if necessary. In the meantime, of course, you shouldn't add anything yet. - You will have one of the squares to work on. The first player starts in the bottom corner, second one in the one adjacent to it - the numbered flags I placed there indicate which one.
- You can do nearly anything within your square. But please leave the rivers as they are - although you may add shallows. Also, mind that the borders between your square and the unfinished adjacent squares remain recognisable for the next designers. The borders between your square and finished adjacent squares must be unrecognisable!
- Don't go outside your own square! You are allowed to tweak the squares of others with small objects etc, but don't add anything big there.
- You will have one of the squares to work on. The first player starts in the bottom corner, second one in the one adjacent to it - the numbered flags I placed there indicate which one.
- TRIGGERS:
- Create your triggers in the trigger group named "square #", the # being your number.
- There is a separate trigger group "Base" for all basic triggers to modify protounits, grant techs, set ages, a day-night cycle, etc. You may add there, too.
- Give your triggers consequent names!
- Spoofed chat for dialogues, message for "gold obtained" etc.
- Highlight talkable units and pick-upable objects with healing SFX or sky portal thingeys.
- Also, Ionus can't level up. Instead, there is a shop where he can buy things with his gold. The triggers for the ones who want to do them.
- There is a separate trigger group "Base" for all basic triggers to modify protounits, grant techs, set ages, a day-night cycle, etc. You may add there, too.
- ADMINISTRATION:
- It is possible that you cannot finish your square in time. In that case, just sign up again and you can work on it further next time!
- If your square is finished, you can start another square the next time it's your turn. But remember: only one square per turn!
- Buggy squares might be removed later.
- Save the file as ...-###.scx, the ### being the next number in line.
- When you're done or when your time is up, you have to send the map back to the next one the list. Please send a carbon copy to me, email address: yeebaagooon(at)hotmail(dot)co(dot)uk
- If the scenario isn't back in my inbox after those 48 hours, or if you didn't follow the rules, I will just send the latest version I have to the new number one, and any additions made by you will be lost.
- You can sign up as often as you want, but there have to be five other people between your turns.
- Designers will be ordered in such a way as to prevent bugs from piling up. This means a mix of experienced and non-experienced designers.
- I'll keep track of all the past designers and how often they have participated. It might turn out handy later.
- If your square is finished, you can start another square the next time it's your turn. But remember: only one square per turn!
- HAVE FUN!

There is no real story - it'll probably unfold when we're working on it. However, I decided the main character to be a priest called Ionus, with increased HP, speed, amount of projectiles, range and LOS. I don't know why, but I think it'll be quite a nice guy to walk around with. Plus he knows magic so he might change appearances if we don't like his priesty look anymore
Ionus begins in a small town, then passes a rock slide, a dark, hillish area full of demons, a village, another village full of priests. After that Ionus passes through a strange, foresty area, another village and another forest. Then Ionus finds that the source of evil is a demon called Kelos. (not related to Kelos Designs in any way). Ionus helps defend a city against bandits, defeats a large fire giant, passes through all sorts of traps and puzzles and goes through a small norse village. Then Ionus wanders through a mystifying Gaia forest and finds Kelos in the forest and a boss begins. Ionus has a vision and sees a woman called Tikal! She gives Ionus some information on Kelos. Then comes a forest fire, when God saves him. The player discovers that Kelos is not the only one causing the evil. There is also an unknown traitor god. Furthermore, the "General" is preparing the "Army", a large force of demons and the dead to rise from the underworld, which supposedly can only be done if they trick Ionus into destroying a "Gate". Also, Tikal is revealed as a traitor who is going to try to kill Ionus later in the story. When the game shifts back to Ionus' perspective, God tells him that to kill Kelos, he must destroy the "Shrine" in a land filled with snow. God mistakenly destroys a second shrine that was, in fact, the Gate, and it's destruction allows the Army to reenter the world under the command of the Dark Lord, an ancient foe. God takes matters into his own hands, and sends his Army to combat the Dark Lord's Army. After God defeats this small portion of the giant Army of the Dark Lord, Tikal appears, and kills Ionus. Our hero wakes up in Ereubus, and here's a disembodied voice order him to journey to Master Hades... Ionus goes to Hades, the devil, because he was told to. He goes to him and Kelos, Tikal and the Dark Lord are there. It turns out that the dark lord is the devil and before he makes Ionus rot in hell, he wanted to show him what he was doing. The dark lord unleashes Solaris, a monster that controls time and space. It kills the dark lord, Kelos and Tikal before teleporting away to elsewhere. Ionus remembers that Solaris will destroy the fabric of existance when released. Now he must get out of Erebus. On his way out of Erebus, Ionus comes face to face with a trapped Prometheus. He tells Ionus that they each have something the other wants. If Ionus frees Prometheus, he will use his strength to kill Solaris. Ionus agrees, and sets out to climb the nearby mountains in order to kill the eagle that weakens Prometheus enough to keep him from braking out. Ionus leaves the underworld. Ionus gets through the village and enters a wasteland. He sees the house from where is parents hold residence. He visits them, and finds them in the back dead. However, his father was still alive. He tells Ionus that Solaris attacked them. His father then recalls that when he was a child, his uncle told him about the legend of Solaris, who would destroy time and space using a jewel found in the land of the sky. That very jewel can be used against Solaris, and kill him. The father then dies. Ionus notices that Solaris is walking past, behind him. Ionus must now go to the land of the sky. Ionus comes across a barren village and finds a soldier. The soldier says he has a ship that is going to the land of the sky. Ionus answers the questions to the quiz and gets on the ship to the land of the sky. When he arrives, he finds a bizaare puzzle of walls and gates that he must get through to reach the land of the sky.
The Dark Lord rises again mysteriously, Ionus betrays God (
That's basically it! So, post your email address here and we can get this going.
