Note: I do not own any part of Final Fantasy. Final Fantasy is copyrighted to Square Enix.
After a terrible first attempt at a single-player scenario, I'm back with one that should definately impress! Nicholas Flamel presents:The world lies shrouded in darkness.
The winds die...
The seas rage...
The earth decays...
But, the people believe in a prophecy, patiently awaiting its fulfillment.
"When darkness veils the world four warriors of light shall come."
After a long journey, four young travelers did at last appear... and in hand of each was clutched a crystal...
There may be some spoilers in here, but the first four should be spoiler-free and still show what the scenario is like, for those of you who don't want it spoiled.
-Four playable characters: Fighter, Thief, Black Mage, and White Mage
-Huge 500x500 map with five major and a few minor dungeons
-Mediocre eyecandy that's slowly getting better
-Terrain blending!
-Exciting boss battles; no repetitive hacking!
-One or two optional sidequests
-Dynamic leveling system
-Many shop-filled towns
-Clear instructions and objectives
-Includes music from the actual game, as long as it is ok'ed by the mods here
-And of course, sufficient use of quest variables, modify protounits, change names, units in area, and even some lighting changes
Ok, I have to be fair and mention a couple of downsides. There isn't a whole lot of puzzle-solving; the latter half of the game consists of fighting your way through four monster-filled dungeons. Which is something some people like, so that could be a good thing. The eyecandy isn't great, but I'm working on it and updating it.
I'm also planning on redoing the respawn and teleportation systems, but that'll be after the release.
~85%-ish
To do:
-Finish triggers for last boss & lass boss intro cin.
-Intro and ending cinematics
-
-Apply liberal amounts of PLAYTESTING! to affected areas.
-Balance changes
Hmm. Not bad for a first showcase. I'm hoping that I get at least a few more downloads than I would have gotten without this.
If I hear one more Harry Potter comment, I'm going to shoot someone. Educate yourself.
Scenario in progress: Final Fantasy 1!
Also working on: A Hoplite-Fight-ish multiplayer scenario.
