Shougi - China

Download Linkhttp://aom.heavengames.com/downloads/showfile.php?fileid=9780

Scenario Completed

Shougi is the Japanese name for Chess.
This will be a multiplayer scenario of Risk with a geographical map of China.
The era will be the Han Dynasty, story: The Three Kingdoms Saga.

I was reading a manga about the Three Kingdoms for a long while now, and i couldn't grasp any idea of a cool country to make a scenario about except Asia.
Also i was playing Fate of The Dragon a few times and really enjoyed it. It's a rts game about the Three Kingdoms Myth.

This will be my new project, a Risk scenario in China.

Gameplay Information!
It will be played as something like Risk. I'm not sure about the player amount, 6 or 8. The players will be able to train military units. Settlements are convertable. Also There will be a shop at the edge of the map (at the sea ofcourse), the shop will give new possibilities like heroes, (god)powers, and other things. Also heroes will pass away and new heroes will come to join your kingdom. The aim is to become the Emperor of China and create a new Dynasty or rebuild the fallen Han Dynasty. Every player will be a different faction with special units ofcourse. Disasters will happen. Titles to be taken like Landlord of a city, One of the 8th Watermirror Geniusses. Create alliances to fight powerfull enemies.

Each clan with its own bonusses in military, and special units.

Each city will provide you with resources over time.
Convert a city by destroying it till XX% and it will change player. This will convert all buildings of the city to you. Including military buildings.
Some cities will have special units from the Fort buildings (Mig, Fort, Hill Fort, Palace).

For example the Imperial Crossbowmen, Red Hare Cavalry, Northern Army Camelry, and more.
And ofcourse the terrifying Handicapped Warriors, with their mysterious leader.

Also there will be the possibility to call yourself Emperor if you conquer Chang'An (ancient capital), and a number of settlements.

I remember playing a game called Dynasty Warriors a while ago. I think it had people like them.

Looks pretty cool.

This actually is a showcase instead of your fail thread.
Look at the percentage bars, and could you show me some screenshots of your map? ^.^
Instead of being a child you could share ideas to improve

I'm still not sure if it should be Risk or Supremacy :/

Risk would be full military focus.
While supremacy would include skill in economy as well.

Though for the risk i was thinking:
Every city supports you with resources. Big cities give more resources. And all cities give pop so you can train more units. Big cities give more pop room ofcourse.

Hmm pretty hard to decide :/

I would go with Risk, no-one wants to have to get an economy.

Um.

You might want to ease up on the hammer of thor.

They're terrible. I'll be honest.

Thx on that Xzyiothe, so i'll have to reduce hammertime.

I have to agree, I think you put too many hammers in that it just doesn't look normal.

That's a huge map right there. Hope it doesn't get too laggy. Anyway I liked how you made those mountains, they look really slick. Good luck with your scenario!

Not to complain, but why did you give a China-themed map a Japanese name?

Otherwise, this certainly sounds interesting.

I advise working on your eyecandy a bit...

Dont lose sleep if the eyecandy isn't perfect, multiplayer scenarios should be designed to be fun and not neccasrily the best looking.

Meh

Except the "hammer of thor for everything" era is long gone. Eyecandy standards have changed. It's old. We're used to it. And this isn't even great usage, a pet-peeve is when the holes in the hammers show (you can get relatively the same affect by using two on their sides) when it doesn't have a purpose in the building.

Also, stuff like stairs made of hammer heads. Basically anything can make stairs.

Cinematic Rocks
Option 17 (for me at least, you'll know it when you see it, its like a small grey brick)
Enlarge to however big you want it, and enjoy.

Why thank you ^.^ i'll try it out.

Don't overdo it if its a multiplayer scenario, if its too laggy your work wont ever get played.

Meh
