Hello there,

I was thinking, we have a screenshot tournament, a RPG tournament, why not a game converter tournament?

What I mean is that you choose an exsisting game and make an AOM version of it, it doesn't have to be completly the same.
But it must have things of the original.

- It can be the whole game or just one or two lvl's -

If you want to take part of the Tournament, You should post your name and the Game you choose in this way: (plz dont choose a game thats already taken)

Jelmer
Monster Hunter Tri

Contestants:

- Jelmer Monster Hunter Tri
- Majic Dodo pikmin
- pubby8 pikmin 2

Together we'll choose a date when they must be Complete.
Then you may upload the file and when its uploaded send me the link. (i'll place it behind your name and game)
The one with the higest rating in one week wins.

Now something better? Or Suggestion?
Let me know!

--- Jelmer ---

That's a nice idea but I think the games chosen should be only minigames like Perpetual's Myth Invader, otherwise they would take a lot of times and none has a lot, considering all the competitions that are already going on... In this way the deadline would be a few days, 2-3.
Maybe it'd be also better to choose a single game so it's much simplier to judge the best

Most people don't have the time for this kind of thing, they are busy with their RPG Tournament scens and their own scenarios.

i didn't say to make the whole game.
One lvl or just one area can be enough.

Some people can make something very good on a small area.
I am going to make a game with the same story and many other features from the main game, its my holiday and I've got time enough.
For people who have not, just make it smaller.
Size doesn't change the rating.

I was contemplating a first person vision ability to put into aom, for a more realistic game play, where the camera completely low and faces the direction your characters heading is, to attempt to make it from their view point. The only issue is making sure it can be doen, and then lag, because if you do across map views it lags horribly, prehaps line of sight would stop that maybe.

if you can do that then it whould be great!

JackandWinston, something like this maybe but a little lower down? First person games can be done in AOM, but like you said, lag can be an issue. HTTO's camera cut effect will be very useful to you.

Jelmer, nice idea for a competition. I think Exolar made a Call of Duty scenario a while back and I'm sure there have been other game conversions.

Mini-games are certainly quicker to make, Pac-Myth and Myth Invaders both took less than a day.

Maybe there could be two competitions - a Game Comverter competition that runs for a month and a Mini-Game competition that runs for a week.

I started making an Asteroids game a while back, but haven't got around to finishing it yet.

I could possibly finish that for the competition or a remake of the classic game River Raid that I've also started but not finished.

Murmillo Of Zeus, you just use screen recording software. I used the free version of Fraps, but that limits you to 30 seconds. There is other software available of varying levels of quality that will let you record more than 30 seconds.

Jelmer's doing MH3? how is that gonna work out, I mean a few monsters work (Nidhogg: Rath, thinking....... Phoenix could almost be Quru, Apep would've been the perfect Jho since I'm thinking about this, maybe Mino is blos, idk, I guess super-scaled stymph bird could be ian) but seriously, that'd be pure awesome if you made it. Seriously only Rath really has a match.

@ L33tSkillz

I only played it once, because my brother has it, not me.
And I saw a monster looking like a Hydra so I will use that one two.
And you are wright, I cant make the whole game but there will be things that are the same, like that you have an inventory, you can choose quests and buy better weapons and armor, the rest is still a secret

BTW, I dont call it Monster Hunter tri, I call it Monster Hunter AOM
