And this fine month, the award goes to... Nanodude!
I remember when Nanodude first arrived as a newbie, and has since risen to the point where we don't bash him the second he opens his mouth. It is my pleasure to present the following interview about this month's Member of the Month!
Now, Nanodude was a bit worried about this when I asked him if he was ready to help me out with a large and challenging task, so I don't think he saw this one coming
AoMH: To start off with, could you tell us a bit about yourself? Such as your name, age, location, job, etc...
Nanodude: Well, I'm a 13 year old male in my second year of High School. I live on an island south of Australia called Tasmania, when I'm not at school I spend a fair bit of time on the computer as some of you would notice.
AoMH: So what's a typical day for you in Australia?
Nanodude: Every morning I get up out of bed, eat breakfast and have a shower, but I always seem to be running late. At school it's just the usual 4 classes which are pretty much boring besides my computer and art classes. On weekends I get up late and spend a heap of time on the computer aswell as feeding my animals.
AoMH: What animals do you have? Any kangaroos?
Nanodude: No not a kangaroo, I have 2 cats, 1 rabbit and 3 alpacas.
AoMH: You have alpacas? That's awesome!
Nanodude: Yep there awesome.
AoMH: Alright then, aside from your wonderful animals... What exactly got you interested in RTS games?
Nanodude: A few years ago I got a copy of Age of Empires 1 in a cereal box and after a couple of years I stopped playing until about 2 years ago I found a copy of Age of Mythology. A few months later I finally found The Titans after a big search and that's how I got into the RTS games.
AoMH: In a cereal box?
Nanodude: Yes it was in a Nutri Grain box when Age of Mythology was in beta so I was pretty young then.
AoMH: Did you find AoMH in a cereal box too?
Nanodude: No no one day at school in about 2006 I looking for some screenshots for Age of Mythology when I came across AoMH, after that I visited AoMH nearly everyday.
AoMH: So what really attracted you and got you into the forums?
Nanodude: After looking at the downloads and guides section I started to get bored until I saw something that said "Forums". I didn't go in there much, but it was very intresting to read all this stuff in SD and in 2007 I was old enough to join.
AoMH: Good to know you paid attention to the rules. Now, how much time do you spend doing AoM/H-related things
Nanodude: I spend about 2 hours everyday on AoM and I have no idea how much on AoMH.
AoMH: So do you play mostly on ESO, or do you experiment with scenario design as well?
Nanodude: I mainly just experiment in the editor or working on one of my maps that never get finished. I do spend a little bit of time on ESO, but I usually just go on when someone asks me to.
AoMH: O.K., outside of AoM, do you enjoy any other games or types of games?
Nanodude: I enjoy playing FPS games on the computer and Playstation 2, I mainly play BattleField 1942 and the Call of Duty series. I also play Medal of Honor and the Grand Theft Auto games.
AoMH: Alright. Now, since I had absolutely no idea you had alpacas, is there any other information you'd like to share with your adoring fans?
Nanodude: Ummmm, this year I hope to improve my maturity and another thing I'm not as weird as you think I am. Also I will try to get some maps out to the community to see my skills.
AoMH: Well then, thanks for taking time to be involved in this interview.
