CASTWCRT Triggers here, please. Now we won't overflood the TRT with our expert trigger discussions!

OK, for those who are wondering... CASTWCRT stands for Confederation for Abolishment of Simple Triggers so We Can Redo Them. This was started by three trigger soon-to-be experts, Guard of Osiris, Guard of Olympus, and lostrozzacavalli. We try to do all simple triggers that haven't been done yet...

If you try to do something, and suddenly none of the triggers from an xml file show up in your triggers, then it's a syntax problem like I mentioned earlier. If you try to open it in internet explorer and scroll to the bottom it'll give an error message and usually give you the line that was the problem.
For me, 90% of the time it is mismatched brackets (curly or round, or command/parameter tags).

Guard, in that line you posted, is
[B]^[/B]
really in your file? I don't think that should be there. Also
Unit Selected">
With no opening tags, and I think that could be the problem. It looks like maybe you deleted a line but missed something.

Wow, looks really good GoO. I like what you guys have done here. But, what do the time triggers do and how do you use them? I see no description... .. .

Also, as soon as I update CE, it has a time system in it, using qvs and a counter, to make the current time go like a clock that is updated the entire time, like grand theft auto timer. Its got no lag whatsoever, and i think it should, with the looping. But check it when i update, it has some cool stuff, also an objective system that you could try to put into a trigger all in one. Cause my objective system i developed has four effects, but if you could combine them, that would be awesome.

Here it is, use the four effects, Message, objective, flash ui, and sound filename, with the sound new_objective.wav and the flash objectivesBanner-interior. You should make it so those four effects are combined, but in a way so that the flash and sound is set, so you can only have those two effects for the flash and sound. Like in the trigger stuff, make it so you dont get to choose the sound or flash banner, it just automatically does those, but maybe an on/off button. Or just a test line saying what it will do.

Great job though. I would really like that objective one for myself, if you could make, i would love it.

I'm sure Guard of Olympus could try and make that, but he said the "sound filename" was messed up. However, I bet he'll log on any minute, and he can answer your question.

you know guards, i actually once did try to modify the code of a trigger to create a new one. Lol, i think it was some area effect that i tried to add in a part to make it for a single unit or something, but this isnt the point. I tried to code a trigger once, and i almost got it. This was without looking at any guides at all, it was just from looking at simaler coding from other triggers, and inferring how to put something in. So basically, I think now ill look at the guides and try to see if i can make my first trigger. So, not yet but when i am ready, would i be able to join CASTWCRT?

I also believe you dont need quotes in your vectors (it shouldnt be a text.. the comp should work with numbers)
->
vector(%SrcArmy%,-1)
instead of
vector("%SrcArmy%",-1)
btw to check syntax errors i recommend firefox and not IE
since Firefox tell you the line of the error and 2nd he show often the fault itself (e.g. forgotten bracket)
