Which also happens to be the 7th Mafia game. Scary huh?

This is the sign-up thread for the game, to gauge interest. I've spent a fair amount writing the roles up, so you'd better sign-up. Seen as a lot of people haven't played Mafia before, I've tried to keep the roles simple. I'll explain in depth on how to play in the game thread. For now, why not check out the excellent MafiaScum for backgrounds and a basic outline? Especially this page.

So, what exactly is Mafia? Well, all the players are handed a role by myself, by email, telling them their role. Traditionally there's two main roles, Townie and Mafia (scum). The townies have to work together to figure out who the Mafioso are, and the Mafia have to try to keep their identity secret, and to kill off enough Townies to be in the majority. Other roles, such as the Doctor, the Cop and others all add a different flavour to the game.

There are two periods of the game, day and night.

During the day, Townies and Mafia alike vote to lynch people, by voting in the game thread. When a majority is reached, that person is lynched. But be careful! The Mafia will try and get you to vote the way they want, all the while seeming innocent. Very rarely, a person may have a 'day action', where they can carry out a kill during the day.

During the night, people who have 'night actions' send me an email. So Doctors tell me who they want to save, Mafioso tell me who they want to kill, Cops tell me who they want to investigate. Townies have no night actions normally, and must sit tight until the next day, hoping they don't get killed.

The game has a vanilla theme, in the traditional Mafia sense, so no Star Wars or anything like that. Maybe next game. But not Star Wars, because it's crap.
