Oh, oh... I'm sorry to say that, but I hope your campaign cinematics will be better, this one wasn't too excellent...
1. NEVER show the border of the map to the player, it destroys the WHOLE atmosphere!
2. If you use "Render Sky", don't leave a black gap between the sky and the map as such!
3. Use "Render Fog/Black Map" and set it to "OFF" during the cinematic.
These mistakes simply cost 90% of the atmosphere and make a cinematic stilted and boring, I'm sorry to say that.
4. Don't make confusing camera tracks ;)
I admit, I was terribly disappointed because your showcase looks really good. I think, most of the cinematics (in scns) at AoMH have these mistakes in them, and they destroy everything!!! I know, it's sometimes a lot more harder to avoid them, but look at ES' cinematics, or, for example, at King Jared's "The Lay of Vestrigard".
PLEASE get rid of them in your campaign, it would be an important step to succesful scenario editing. I know it's hard, but I really was disappointed...[Edited on 04/13/04 @ 08:24 AM]

yeah ok i admit the cins were a bit juddery in places but i just through this together quickly!!not much time spent.
The render sky thing was a bit of a mistake!!:(
I made the ground level to low,and when i realised it was to late!!
What do u mean "confusing camera tracks"??
To many waypoints???[Edited on 03/23/04 @ 10:41 AM]

Yeah, and they were too fast. Keep them slow, with less waypoints, make more use of cuts instead of tracks etc. |

Well, it reveals the map and thus makes the cinematic more realistic. The name of the effect is "Render Fog/Black Map" and you can chose between "On" and "Off". Ever wondered why in ES' campaign cinematics one is able to see the whole map and not even a part of the black cover? Well, now you know how to do it, so try around and you'll get it... But don't forget to set it to "On" after the cinematic in your campaign, otherwise the player is able to se the whole map...[Edited on 03/23/04 @ 01:37 PM]

well i did put revelers in so you could see the part you were meant to,but if i were to reveal the whole map then you would see parts you not meant to!!
as its not acctually a map, just bits of one!!You no what im saying?like you dont wanna see the big Warriors of sparta message on the land at the end,in the cins?? |

I know what you mean, but I'd prefer some closer camera cuts that hide things from the player than a black layer in the cinematic... Ah, come on, it isn't too difficult to hide important things :)... Moreover, you can spare a lot of work if you don't place all the revealers... |

I think showing the edges in a cinematic is perfectly normal. |
