i know more or less how to make it into a seprate unit
the things im having trouble with are:
spartan 300 sounds
and a cape if i can attach one
amd of course general improvements over all

So this is a retexture of the hoplite? Okay. To make a new unit just copy the hoplite proto information starting at the name and ending at its . Then paste it at the bottom of the protox and rename it etc....Use the guide which can be found to download called 'An Introduction to Modding"

You Can attach an cape lol, copy one from the Jarl/Huskarl or the Hypaspist

Sorry but no matter how good, I never get a modpack unit that replaces existing unit's textures.

I don't think you can attach a cape that easily, OzE_PyRoLeGion, the cape is not defined in an anim file, it is part of the model. The best way to get a cape is to use a model which has a cape (i.e. Hypaspist).
