Loki’s Hersir summoning bonus

This is a rather complicated bonus and many people don’t understand it. It’s not a random process, and if you understand it properly, you can get more out of it.

All Norse human units gain favor when they are dealing damage to anything in the game except for walls. This includes not just enemy units, but buildings and animals. Hersir gain twice as much favor as regular units from fighting.

When one of Loki’s Hersir are created, a myth unit is randomly chosen for that unit. The myth unit is always of the current age or less, and it doesn’t matter which minor god you chose. To summon that myth unit, the Hersir needs to do as much fighting that would ordinarily gain the same favor value as that myth unit.

For example, a Troll costs 14 favor. For a hersir to summon a troll, he must do enough fighting to gain 14 favor – this is quite a lot of fighting, since the Hersir will only gain 2 favor for every human unit he kills himself. (He has to take away all of a unit’s HP to get that 2 favor, not just make the last blow.) The best way to raise the odds of successfully summoning a myth unit is to keep your Hersir alive and heal them with Forseti’s Healing Spring god power.

The summoning of a myth unit has no effect on your favor stockpile – it’s free.
