Are you sick and tired of the regular Aom farm units? If you are, here are some useful tips on creating other types of farms using the other units in Aom. To start, try creating something simple like this:

This was made using berry bushes, wooden fences, and pine forest terrain. Making farms like these are really quite simple, and they also work very well in cinematics.

You can make it look like villagers are actually “farming” units that aren’t really farms. Take a look at this Egyptian papyrus farm:

It might be a little hard to see, but the villagers are actually gathering from the papyrus reeds. To do this, take a berry bush plant or tree (something with resources) and simply turn it upside down (you’ll need to download CheeZy’s patch to do this). Make sure that the upside-down unit is completely invisible. Then, place units on top of it. That’s all!

Here’s another example, this time it’s a slave digging holes to plant the seeds for a farm.

Instead of using berry bushes, this used dig-pile units, a villager tasked on a dig pile will look like it’s digging a hole.

There are all sorts of different techniques for making farms; this article is just to get you started on it. Here are two more examples for you to look at:

Happy farm-building!
