Recovered from my screw-up and well on the way to my next. Besides that not much.

Diplomats have informed me that we are very receptive to peace offers and terms of surrender.

Ofir invaded my land and payed for that. All his army, including himself, his hero, mystic, cat master, prowler and one more weaker soldier was destroyed. I've suffered some losses too, but my wizard, hero and mystic are still alive, and mystic even got gold medal.

Several hours prior to dawn, Seti sat rigid upon his throne with his eyes devouring his worn copy of "The Art of War". Knowledge is always power. Hours passed both slowly and quickly respectively as the wizard was eager to hear news from the fronts, but his hairs tingled with foreboding. At day break he rose toward the window and squinted against the reflective desert sands. Off in the distance, Amon's entire army was moving toward his tower.

Seti returned to his throne, composedly, removed his well worn book from the table and cracked the new spine of Ernest Dunlop Swinton's "The Defence of Duffer's Drift."

I've just received the next turn from tibbs and its not my position! In fact its Minstrels' position!!! Minstrel plays after me. Does this mean I am dead? If tibbs has killed me/Amon he would have returned in his capital, right?

If I am dead and send the turn on to Minstrel won't he then get evil roc's position?!

To make matters worse, the VERY small amount I had to see of Minstrel's position has spoilt my game! Any idea what to do now?

posted 04-04-04 11:20 AM EDT (US)     33 / 122
I sent the next turn (by auto) to SteveB. You sure weren't dead when I looked and I know it said it was mailing to you. If you'd like I'll resend or I could send the turn to Hiranu and he could look at it. Whichever you guys would like.

Either option is fine by me. How does Minstrel think, its his position that's been compromised. I can send the turn I received to hiranu too.
posted 04-04-04 11:47 AM EDT (US)     35 / 122
It might be his position that is compromised but aren't you saying that you're not even present? That is more serious IMO.

Hi tibbs

Below is an email I tried to send you, but was returned as a delivery failure.

SteveB

Hi Chad

I won't look at or play the position you sent with this turn (for now) as I
don't know what it will do to the one I posted the message about (cause a
restart, what position it will open as?). Not until Minstrel and evil roc
have had chance to comment anyway (and hiranu).

Obviously I don't know what you did on your last turn, but all the practice
runs I tried with my attackers and your defenders (as of my last turn)
resulted in me losing and heavily. Based on this I would not attack. Instead
where would I go? A weakened, vulnerable opponent would be ideal . Until now
I did not know of one.

If I tried to avoid and not use 'out of game knowledge' it would restrict my
options quite a lot. In fact, looking at the map, the route I would take
would not be based on out of game knowledge, but Minstrel may not think that
after I have seen his position.

The person who has the biggest problem is Minstrel. I know where he is and
where he's (probably) going.

I've also CCd this to hiranu.

Steve

Really? I thought I was a goner.

My entire move was moving those three flame throwers to my capital.

I agree that Minstrel and Hiranu should have a say in the current course of action for obvious reasons. I know that I haven't seen or generated any restart messages. Besides that, I don't feel I'm much of a factor in this one so I'll just wait and see what everyone else says.

I know there is no restart, I never said there was. I don't think I'm a factor either. I am innocently in receipt of another player's turn. Which disadvantages that player and MUST have an infleunce on my actions in the short term.

Anyway, I shall withhold further comment until others have had their say.

Sorry, I should have been more detailed. When I said I wasn't much of a factor I meant in the game. I'm not doing very well and will probably be eliminated first.

(You are a factor by those terms)

I've looked at game forwarded to me. It loads up to SteveB's turn, so I'm not sure what the problem was. As far as I can tell there are several turns between the two troops. In my opinion, the best action would be for Minstrel to take a look at SteveB's position, but I would need Tibb's permission for that, since openeing SteveB's turn would show pretty much all of Tibbs situation. Absent that I can pass along basic information that should enable Minstrel to be as over-informed as SteveB.

Either way, while there are guesses to be made, but I've looked at both turns, and don't think that the game will be irreparably damaged by proceeding.
