Arachna, Day 1

Go, dark elves, conquer and destroy! Go... wait a minute... you're all elves, but you're... you're icky, good elves! What the...! This is somebody's idea of a joke, isn't it? Just wait til I get hold of whoever did this. I bet it was Phobius, that wise guy. Phobius... or Perses! Yeah, one of them pulled this on me. Alright, somebody's gonna pay. Somebody's gonna pay just as soon as I conquer a couple nodes over here. I'm gonna go conquer these nodes, and then somebody's gonna pay. Yeah. Just wait and see.

These Archons are a little too nice for my standards, but I'm sure I can use their theocracy to my advantage. We shall go forth and eradicate magic! Well, we'll save a little magic for me.

Arachna, Day 2

Glade runners are nice for scouting and all, but they don't do much in combat. I'll have to be very careful in conquering the area.

The tower of Perses was small and underfunded. Not at all the magnificent city that he was used to. With a growl of rage he called forth for his pride of hunters to gather wealth and fame. Without a word Perses locked his chamber door with a 'Do Not Disturb' sign when he saw a fat bearded man riding a giant pig answering his call. It is going to be a long day.

***BTW- Any thoughts about making this a WL match?

Freed a mine from a goblin infestation. Have begun to resign myself to hearing prayer bells 24 times a day. Do they never stop?

The fat little dwarves are rumoured to be mighty warriors but this cannot be confirmed because they are too slow to get anywhere.

Arachna, Day 3

Captured a node. So far so good. However, although there are many nearby targets, all of them are too tough for my current, wounded band. Some R&R is in order while my scouts continue scouting.

My Paladins got mauled by some orcs and dwarves. Where are my good Knights when I need them?

A group of high and mighty archons ambushed one of our scouts and esily ended his life. Too bad for the archons because they came within striking distance for the remainder of the forces.

Arachna, Day 4

I'm heading towards some production resources that I should be able to acquire. There are some area guards nearby that I need to avoid. I can certainly beat them, but they could inflict some real damage.

Some good news: scouts report high mountains in two directions, so I have at least some protection.

My armies are too battered to make any real progress - we await reinforcements.

While our enemies report wounds and losses we remain strong and healthy. This is mainly due to the lack of speed of the dwarves and the barreness of our lands. A thousand curses!

Arachna, Day 5

Production resources captured, but my troops are getting worn out. We'll have to wait a little bit before going after the next target.

Sorry about the restart. I tried to decline saving the game so I could change my spell research, but it didn't work.

Yes, I'd be okay with a WL game.

Hmm, can't get to the restart because the game I got is turn 4 . According to the email (and my memory), we should be on turn 5 now. Resend?

These tunnels are barren, dark and wet. What kind of creature calls this home? Perses dreams of better days when the sun gleamed against the desert sands.

Arachna, Day 6

Attacked by independents during the night, but miraculously, nobody was killed. Ector even levelled up!

The priests at a local temple helped heal my warriors. It appears all that praying is good for something after all!

Yet another day of wandering without gain. Perses is at a loss trying to understand how the dwarven race has managed to survive.

Arachna, Day 7

Oakleaf has joined my party. This may allow me to take action sooner than I had hoped.

An elven patrol approachs my area bent on mayhem. We move to intercept, but are likely too late.

A hero approached our army and offered to join. Another dwarf, just what we need... Our exploration party did discover a rogue group of dwarves that refused to join. Perses was so thrilled that he pushed through the fat little troops to slay them himself. Hopefully we'll find more.

Arachna, Day 8

More production resources captured. Lost my favorite spider though.

We managed to stop the marauders before they did much damage.

Today we killed some halflings in a tiny little village. Perses dreams of a home where he could actually stand up.

Arachna, Day 9

Massing our forces for an upcoming quest.

Arachna thought she could spy on my territory. She didn't take into consideration the keen vision of my Paladins. Her scout won't be reporting back.

Perses' scouts are lost. They are either dead, wandering in circles or passed out in a ditch. Perses is guessing the latter.

Arachna, Day 10

Lost a scout to Phobius. Nothing more to report.

Arachna, Day 11

My army is gathered and in good health, ready to strike.

A despicable being of magic and fire killed one of my Paladins today. My remaining army banished it from the lands.

Completed my quest.

We freed a mine from dark elf control.

Still walking. A scout has entered our lands. I wonder what their intentions are?

Arachna, Day 13

Captured a tower.

My scouts continue to expand my knowledge of the lands, but perhaps their mere presence could be misunderstood as a hostile gesture?

Arachna, Day 14

The captured tower provided less information than hoped for. Forces are gathering again for assaults on two semi-distant structures.

Sorry to say I will be away starting today until June 23rd.
