Dark Elves Day 1

A city is gained and a couple of quests undertaken.

posted 05-27-06 03:57 PM EDT (US)     2 / 92
Dark Elves, Day 1

City gained. Got lucky with a quest that fell in my lap. Gained a few handy units. Off exploring.

Humans, Day 1

Units joined, small battle fought and won without too much bother. Not sure which way to go next though as money tight this early on.

2 turns sent.

Humans Day 1

A couple of battles here, a couple of recruitments there, and cooking the books to ensure solvency.

Dark Elves Day 2

Quest battle completed but we don't get rewarded for reasons that must stay secret, at this stage. An important unit, at this stage, joins the army.

Dark Elves, Day 2

Took a gamble to sort out the money situation and discover that doom bats aren't too good against polearms.

Well I guess it sorted my money situation though.

Humans, Day 2

City gained, units recruited, still undecided which direction to take. Bridge or Docks?

posted 05-28-06 06:12 AM EDT (US)     5 / 92
Humans Day 2

Similar sort of battle for the city, including seduction of the knight, but there it differed!

Dark Elves Day 3

No gambles, just movement.

Dark Elves, Day 3

Quest completed for useless spell at the cost of the last unit of Doom Bats. Annoying. Looking to expand.

Humans, Day 3

Jezuz. Almost lost the game to Indies. Came out of a hidey hole and attacked my sole Wizard. Fortunately had a unit in adjacent hex by chance which saved the day. Must pay more attention to this 1.4 scenery.

Income a problem but looks like the docks route may pay off.

Humans Day 3

Took a tower and seduced one of the guards - after which the docks don't look too lucrative, so we gamble on going the other way.

Dark Elves Day 4

Several battles using the entire army go fairly well - lost a minor unit or two and gained a storm priest. Nearly lost the nightmare which went down to 3 hp largely due to a huge arrow. Thank badness for regeneration.

posted 05-28-06 04:04 PM EDT (US)     8 / 92
Dark Elves, Day 4

Almost lost the nightmare in a similar style. Didn't know you couldn't seduce bladedancers, so that put me in a spot of bother. Webbing saved the day. Now off down the grey-bricked road.

Humans, Day 4

Hop across the water and a couple of minor battles go without any losses. Quest completed but not much gained. Next turn should see some much needed income structures.

Humans Day 4

Attacked some chaps who wanted to be friendly and co-opted oen anyway. Landed next to a city which is quite cheap but still beyond us, so tomorrow we fight!

Dark Elves Day 5

Moving on mass, seduced another priest (but no female bladedancers!), completed a quest and gained a nice unit. Hopefully, the subjects of another quest will stay right where they are for tomorrow!

posted 05-28-06 05:01 PM EDT (US)     10 / 92
Dark Elves, Day 6

A bit of girl-on-girl action would liven the game up some. Idea for new human unit "Deuce Bigalow". But the manual plainly says they are female, and guess what, I never really considered that.

Anyways. Discovered route out of here and took it.

Humans, Day 6

Bad move that, crossing the water. All the independent stacks just charged. Heavy losses. And the way back sealed off when pirates sank the sloop.

Putting plan B in motion to get reinforcements across.

posted 05-28-06 06:10 PM EDT (US)     11 / 92
Humans Day 5

Attacked by indies in the night. Our lone scout dies, but our main force survives intact, to take the city and seduce a defender. We recruit another nymph. Income is OK. Time to lick our wounds.

Dark elves Day 6

Another quest completed. In fact, we seduce a yeti, which was a surprise. But as the quest can't be completed on that basis, we have to disband it, and get a nice sword in return. Also aids the income situation.

posted 05-29-06 04:15 AM EDT (US)     12 / 92
Dark Elves, Day 6

Heavy losses in what seemed an easy fight. Usually undead archers can't hit a barn door. City will have to wait for next turn or so.

Humans, Day 6

Much needed healing takes place. A couple of farms gained to help the money situation. Things are looking up.

posted 05-29-06 07:02 AM EDT (US)     13 / 92
Humans Day 6

Pretty disastrous. Split my forces then undertook a silly battle for a watchtower, in which the defendants must have super elite weapons. Lost many troops including both nymphs. In one bizarre shot, a priest killed my nymph, then damaged one unit with the next blast and another with the third!!

Dark Elves Day 7

Mixed turn. Seduced two more nice units but lost two others. Quest succeeds and got another, which is useful as it is where I was headed anyway!

(Sorry - restarts! looks like my egames file has gone funny.)

posted 05-29-06 07:22 AM EDT (US)     14 / 92
Humans, Day 7

Chicken out of planned attack on town. Opt for farm instead. Still saving for navy.

Dark Elves, Day 7.

Opening of turn sees Morgai almost losing the game to the same Eagle that almost did for me... Close.

Recruited new hero, only then to remember the money was being saved for something else. D'oh. Waiting.

posted 05-29-06 01:33 PM EDT (US)     15 / 92
Humans Day 7

It gets worse. We split our forces to get wounded units back to the healing point, and the eagle (some super eagle by the look of it) polished off most of them including sending our wiz back to the tower.

Dark Elves Day 8

In which we now have a sizeable army and a resource problem feeding it. Hopefully we can last out for the trek to the next city.

posted 05-29-06 02:02 PM EDT (US)     16 / 92
Humans, Day 8

Things go horribly wrong. The navy, such that it was, gets taken out by a patrol of pirates. Thinking to pick off the pirates, divert funds into recruitment. These then killed off as the defenders extra turn saw pistol shots decimating the attackers.

Realising that the reinforcements won't be turning up any time soon, took a chance against the town only for the slingers to decimate the attacking force from within the walls.

Down to my wizard and a halberdier.

Only good thing from this is I'm getting loads of gold in next turn.

Dark Elves, Day 8.

After the above's effort, not going to risk an attack too early. Decided to wait another turn.

posted 05-29-06 02:34 PM EDT (US)     17 / 92
Humans Day 8

Super Eagle attacks again and we lose the wounded knight. At least we can now start to recruit again

Dark Elves Day 9

Just movement.

posted 05-29-06 02:51 PM EDT (US)     18 / 92
Dark Elves, Day 9

Movement, slow, slow movement.

Humans, Day 9.

Shopping.

posted 05-29-06 03:25 PM EDT (US)     19 / 92
Humans Day 9

Another eagle dies, ans some property recaptured.

Dark Elves Day 10

Blast indies appear overnight and claim our exposed nightmare!

Fought our way through to the city and captured it. Got a very nice unit in exchange. Decided to disband our entangler that was the subject of a quest. Difficult decision, as it had been so useful. We got a medium sword in exchange.

Then we went and disposed of the indies that killed our nightmare, and left units horribly exposed again.

posted 05-29-06 04:33 PM EDT (US)     20 / 92
Dark Elves, Day 10

Decided to wait one more turn before attack on city. Pesky webs.

Humans, Day 10

Recruiting, building and working on Plan C regards the pirate problem.

posted 05-30-06 02:11 PM EDT (US)     21 / 92
Humans Day 10

Freed a way through to the docks and scurried off in a sloop to see what's what.

Dark Elves Day 11

Steadily going wrong. The ridiculously exposed position of last turn sees the red dragon we gained in a quest killed by the second wave of indies that poured in. At least it wasn't Nora Batty, who did manage to seduce an abomination which could prove handy.

posted 05-30-06 06:19 PM EDT (US)     22 / 92
Dark Elves, Day 11

Finally attacked the city only to find it didn't have walls as I thought it had - seducing one of the units led to an easy victory. Opted for the gold as the reward and quickly invested back into the cities. Choosing next move as can't see much else at the moment.

Humans, Day 11

Working on plan C - swimming lessons for the knights.

posted 05-30-06 06:37 PM EDT (US)     23 / 92
Humans Day 11

The aquatic adventure lastly precisely one turn, so we did absolutely nothing except move a unit to hopsital.

Dark Elves Day 12

The tunnels are infested with indy stacks and our scouting abomination was trapped by a bunch of slavers. Nevertheless our entire army presses on and awaits overnight developments with interest.

posted 05-31-06 01:02 PM EDT (US)     24 / 92
Dark Elves, Day 12

Erm. Now with a better view of the surrounding area, that stack on the surface looked much more appealing. Decided to wait a turn to see what develops before deciding.

So sort of decisive in an undecisive way.

Humans, Day 12

Recruiting and waiting. Those pirates are gonna get their backsides kicked for this...

posted 05-31-06 02:53 PM EDT (US)     25 / 92
Humans Day 12

Sent one unit downstairs, as we really should know if anything else is coming. But everything else goes east.

Dark Elves Day 13

Came to the conclusion that the nasty looking tigran stacks were on guard so our entire army attempts to pass by, looking the other way and whistling innocently.....

posted 05-31-06 05:22 PM EDT (US)     26 / 92
Dark Elves, Day 13

Attacked by independents during the night and come out of it with a seduced slaver and no losses. Bonus. Decide that underground is worth sticking with for now and explore a bit further.

Humans, Day 13

Casting and waiting. Pirates are looking nervous.

Humans Day 14

Recruited a couple of units and recaptured a city.

Dark Elves Day 15

Probably the same bunch of slavers attack us! Unfortunately the result is far worse..... no seductions. So we move on to some outpost or the other and sduce one of the gaurds.

posted 06-01-06 01:27 PM EDT (US)     28 / 92
Dark Elves, Day 14

Attacked my a stack of 8 slavers during the night (no real surprise) but what was was that we had no, repeat, no casualties. I was expecting the worst.

Capture outpost and seduced one of the guards in a somewhat similar fashion to what is happening in the parallel universe... Next step is uncertain at this point.

Humans, Day 14

Equipped with the new sea horses, the knights kick butt. Now the coast is literally clear, more expansion is expected soon.

posted 06-01-06 04:35 PM EDT (US)     29 / 92
Humans Day 15

Wndering off in search of we know not what.

Dark Elves day 16

Captured the outpost and seduced the warlord. Captured the other gate ..... now what?

posted 06-01-06 04:58 PM EDT (US)     30 / 92
Dark Elves, Day 15

Attacked by indies, no losses. Decided to summon spider off in one direction, and decided that looked the best bet, so followed that path.

Humans, Day 15

Bit of sea jousting that proved entertaining. Waters are now free of trouble so expanding into the bay area.

posted 06-01-06 05:57 PM EDT (US)     31 / 92
Humans Day 16

A hero joins, so we hang around waiting for him to make all the difference.

Dark Elves Day 17

What's the point of scouts? As soon as they get anywhere, they die. Also dying in large quantitites are indies, who continue to throw themselves on our ever growing army. Which grew today by the seduction of Cromagnon, the hero which emerges in human lands then buggers off. Now, if we can only work out which way he buggered.......

posted 06-02-06 02:58 PM EDT (US)     32 / 92
Dark Elves, Turn 16

Two more attacks from indies during the night. Keeping the army together seems the right tactic at the moment. Progressed further down the current tunnel...

Humans, Day 16

Completed quest, nothing interesting in reward. Some movement but that's about it.

posted 06-02-06 04:29 PM EDT (US)     33 / 92
Humans Day 17

Captured a tower and found it is in a dead end, unless you have water walking, that is....

Dark Elves Day 18

A shade deals with 4 dwarves that attack in the night. The main army camps outside the entrance to a short narrow chasm behind which lies a city, in the hope that the large stack sitting in the way will attack in the night. They wave various parts of their bodies in the general direction, and mouth obscenities, in the hope that trolls understand this sort of behaviour

posted 06-03-06 04:36 AM EDT (US)     34 / 92
Dark Elves, Day 17

More attacks in the night come to nothing. Captured another outpost, laying plans for the large city nearby but will need more troops. Indie scouting party starting to cause concern as heading towards wizard...

Humans, Day 17

Another mill added to the fold. Moving newly recruited force into position to take a couple more towns.

posted 06-03-06 08:15 AM EDT (US)     35 / 92
Humans Day 18

Trekking back.....

Dark Elves Day 19

Seduced a couple of good units and spot some chaps who want to talk. What they say is just a little beyond the coffers at the moment (1545 gold!). Instead, we see another opportunity....

posted 06-03-06 09:19 AM EDT (US)     36 / 92
Dark Elves, Day 18

Manage to gain two abominations. Movement and sizing up the next conquest.

Humans, Day 18

Moving old one-eye into position.

posted 06-04-06 07:42 AM EDT (US)     37 / 92
Humans Day 19

At last some property to acquire. Plus we venture over the river....

Dark Elves Day 20

Killed a couple of wandering priests on the way to two targets. Another hero joins.

posted 06-04-06 11:15 AM EDT (US)     38 / 92
Dark Elves, Day 19

Gatehouse taken without any losses, though further progress looks a bit scary and might need reinforcements or loads of dosh. Advance pauses to consider next action.

Humans, Day 19

Ah. Cunning. In a battle for another town, the attackers concentrate all fire on the draconian elder somehow knowing that would give me morale problems. Battle won easily but suspect I will lose a couple of units overnight.

posted 06-04-06 06:36 PM EDT (US)     39 / 92
Humans Day 20

Attacked in the night on 3 occasions. Two not unexpected, but I suspect the AI could see our concealed snake somehow. At least we can now finish off the circus guards. And take a windmill.

Dark Elves Day 21

Both todays target taken without problems. Next target acquired, but only half our army can proceed....

posted 06-05-06 01:23 PM EDT (US)     40 / 92
Dark Elves, Day 20

Attacked in the night again and get away without any losses. Reconsider intended attack as a result of the injuries sustained. Awaiting reinforcements.

Humans, Day 20

Shocking. Manage to lose two knights to two halberdiers. Attempt to appease archon unit fails as hadn't noticed that the unit with bard's skills was also archon.

Gain a city and an income structure, but not much left of the army for a second time.
