Orcs - Day1

A watchtower has been captured, but all that it shows is more desolation and dangerous maraurders. Show me resources to help my cause, or show me Elves on whom I can take my revenge!

Edit: Oops, sorry greenmonster, I sent the game to the email address in your profile. I just now noticed that you have a different one in the sign up thread, so I'm resending to that one.

Tigran, Day 1

Scouting a little, moving around.

Given a horrific quest by the spirit of order, where he put the infidels in a spot visible but not reachable. Not a very pleasent way to start the game

Exploring the surroundings of our starting city. Captured a windwill and a small village.

Orcs - Day2

Some building materials are spotted in the distance, guarded and surounded by muliple parties of maraurders. They all look desperate, trying to eek out a living in this desicated, empty dried river basin. The test of steel will show me whom my true warriors are, and end the misery of those that oppose me.

Tigran - Day 2

Captured a local node.

Scouts have reported the location of the infidels of the quest of order, spotted from a nearby watchtower.

Several tigran cities have also been spotted, we shall see their asking price, and meet it with the approriate response.

The marauders are friendly enough -- as long as you give them gold. I gave them steel instead, and they gave me experience in return. Certainly a fair trade, by orc standards. I'm still looking for some Elves to barter with. They have hundreds of years of interest on the water debt that they owe my people.

some rabid wolves took a tower from me, so I sent my troops to see what was the matter with them. 1 wolf was cured of his malody, and follows us now loyaly.
unfortunatly, the other was too far diseased, and had to be put down.
no time to mourn this animal however... after taking back the watch tower, I see a threat on the horizon I must attend to!

1 of my messengers has finally reached my neighbor...
unfortunatly he tresspassed where he wasnt suppossed to, so i offer a huge tribute to be forgiven from our offense.

i have also sent word to old friends about the new orc threat.
i pray they put aside old differences and heed my requests!

The elven messenger has been given a warm welcome by our kingdom's folks. The alliance between our two nations has now been sealed.

On the battlefield, we fought some indies and captured two more windmills.

Please resend the correct turn, the one you sent was ulmrat, meaning someone played through my turn?

Edit: Minstrel will be resending me the the turn in about 3-4 hours. When I accidently opened the game (well, at least its my ally), I was still on the turn indicator, so I don't think I'm dead.

How can this happen? The game file was sent automatically at the end of my turn.
I will resend tonight (in 3-4 hours). As the game was sent automatically, I will have to replay my turn.

you dont need to replay your turn..

just open the file, and the game will tell you
"this turn was ended, and can only be opened for resending purposes. would you like to continue?"

Ok, turn played.

Tigran -

The independents who I had been hoping to battle (the Order quest) have run away, with me unknowning to were, and with too many raiders about to send a scout.

Added a mine and decided that the settlements shall recieve steel and fire, as they ask too much for gold.

Still no word nor site of my ally, and many raiders lie between him and I.

More marauders feed my army with experience, and another Goblin outpost was reminded at blade point that their pathetic race was created solely to serve Orcs. Still yet another outpost has been spotted in the distance, and we head there now to bring them into the fold. It takes a firm hand to survive in this blasted wasteland, and I shall provide it to them.

Tigran - Day 4

Captured my first village near by, and completed my first research. The quest of the Spirit of Order has run, scared away by my superior force. Several injuries from the Cat Master and Fire Cats, and the inability to cast spells, but no casualties. Wolves and Birds approach, apparently ready to tangle, although they will die with a wimper.

Orcs - Day5

My small cadre is tired, battle sore and wounded; lack of gold means we fight instead of parley at each encounter. Yet none have fallen in battle, and another outpost (this time Orc) flies my banner. Thus are the seeds of greatness planted, soon to be watered with the blood of our enemies. I am pleased with our progress.

Arrrggghhh!!!! A tree hugger dares to slink out of the forest and mock my troops from my watchtower! How brave you are little elf, in your daring battle against my unguarded tower. Perhaps you wounded yourself climbing up the stairs, or maybe opening the unlocked door? Come down to the desert, to this wasted river bed that your people created, so that my Orcs may hear your courageous words better. But if the blistering sun and searing heat would harm your delicate skin then I can come to you instead. You see, I can be accommodating when need be.

Ah ha, the enemy has decided to return in force. We will not be wasting our time chasing down a lone scout now -- we can feast upon a REAL battle. Reinforcements are on the way -- the tower will be retaken and all inside shall perish!

Dispite the pest control issues, two more mines were taken and an Orc village is spotted less than a day away. They shall be reunited with thier true leader by force on the morrow.

war is indeed brought to the orcs, although we think we may have aided them too much... the income they were getting from the goblin outpost couldnt match the upkeep they were paying its guarison.

from the outpost we see an angry wizard headed this way, as well as a few archers. only having 2 troops left after that battle, we decide to abandon our new holding. we hope the goblins understand... they were pretty happy to be released from orc rule.

Received a goblin outpost from our kind ally the elves. We have to clean all the stinking filth they produce and turn it into a nice halfling village before the orcs come back to take it.

Orcs - Day8

My garrison failed. They were more experienced, greater in quality and quantity, and possessed the high ground. With the chance that we have dreamed of for so long -- to exact revenge on those that stole our water and our land. And yet they still failed. Whatever hellish existence they endured in this world, I pray they have entered a hundred fold worse in the afterlife reserved for those that falter when the need of the Orc nation is greatest.

I have reclaimed the outpost myself, and have granted escort privilege to some recently recruited archers. With the freed up income from my former pathetic army I have stooped to hiring a few stragglers to mop up the remaining forest vermin that still scurry about this side of the mountains. To the South, the last remnants of my original retinue have taken control of fairly well intact Orc village.

The spark still smolders -- with a little breath it will fan into flame.

So the threat of an Orc revival was much overestimated.
with fool-hardy leadership their rebellion was quite short lived.

running about without his glutton, thinking himself invincable, Ulmrat decided to take back that meager outpost with only the aid of 2 archers, knowing full well that my scout and boar were wiating in thw wings, and that a spy had slipped by him days before.

what he did not know was that that spy found more forest creatures who were willing to join our crusade. they slinked just out of orc-sight, and Ulmrat took the bait.

although the 2 wolves died in attack, Ulmrat and his archers are no more.
We will be sure to round up every last orc this time to make sure they will never again bother us. the only real threat they have left is a lone glutton, who is already badly wounded.

when word of this victory gets around, perhaps my people shall be reunited, and reattain our former prosperity.

Good game. The Orcs obviously need a more finessed and defensive approach -- the lack of a hero and wizard tower euchered me into using my Wizard early as an active unit. I didn't anticipate the Elven rush so soon, or at least that I would see them coming. It seem like they all had concealment properties, and that they knew exactly ahead of time where to go.

The lack of cash was also a killer, as I could only afford the underground outpost and a half dozen level 1 unit builds. The Glutton never really helped; it's low defense (even stone skined) kept it too wounded most of the time to be of any use, and it would have died instantly I fear in FC. A Warlord and two archers would have been a lot more helpful.

The FCs didn't turn out at all like I anticipated -- I lost the two critical ones that I thought I should have won easily. I'll have to experiment some more and see how the computer organizes FC and which units it values.

Nice job to the Elves on jumping to a quick start. Good luck to the Tigrans -- you're going to need it!
