The game has been started and turn sent to LTR. Thanks for re-offering back the Nomads LTR. You're a generous soul.

1. Phobious of the humans - LordTheRon at lycos dot nl

2. Ke-nan of the nomads - Fubarno rutbeer at earthlink dot net

House rules in effect. May the dice roll in your favor.

Uhoh, I guess you sent the game to the wrong address if you used the one in this opening thread. At least I didn't get anything.

The right address is: lordtheron at lycos dot nl

Phobius day 1

Ah look at my kingdom. It's spreading in all directions. Sadly there's only room for one Phobius. Thus these stupid Nomad's under the leadership of Kenan should leave my kingdom. I'll ask them polite for the last time. If they won't leave by themselves I might have to send my bloodthirsty knights out to rid the lands of these stupid tent people!

Ke-nan - Day 1

So Phobious wants war with the nomads. To him it's just a game but to us it is existance.

This reminds me of a proverb my great father the Sultan used to tell me. It went,.. something, something,.. and something,.. and something or other.

Well the point was,.. "to try and conquer the desert tribes is as futile as fighting the wind and all who do so shall suffer a fate worse than that of motherless and vermin infested pit slave."

Phobius day 2

Already the mighty Phobius is low on money. Some of the peasants seem to have more than enough though. And what about those Nomad's? I think we should plunder them too.

Ke-nan - Day 3

General Khaan performed poorly in battle on day one but has shown more promise today in his exploits. Tomorrow promises more fighting. I hope fortune continues to blow his way.

Phobius day 4

We killed our first Nomad today, although he seemed to be a Draconian under Nomad command.

Ke-nan - Day 4

So, Phobious has drawn first blood. Probably foolish of me to send my lil pet up such a dangerous road all by himself.

That Khaan is starting to anger me with his poor performance. He says he is good with a bow but he's no robin hood.

Phobius day 5

We freed a creature that was held captive by some Slaver and his pathetic little Barbarian friends. The powerful creature was happy to join our cause to kill all Nomad's alive in these lands.

Ke-nan - Day 5

Khaan led the exploration of an ancient ruin and performed better today killing an archon bowman and a pegasus rider. I also couldn't be more pleased with the treasure he found. It will suit him well.

Of some concern are the enemy forays in the north west.

Phobius day 6

Two victories today. Some of my brave units got wounded, but nothing fatal. We spotted a group of renegade Humans who seem to be fighting for Ke'nan. They'll regret that!

Ke-nan - Day 6

What my scouts reported today sent a ripple of panic through my tent city. Heading south from the far east is a greasy and corrupt paladin named Mynar, flying the flag of Phobious. Along with his knights and other minor troops marches a mighty basilisk, a creature from mythology that scholars report has not been seen in the land in millenia.

How to combat this force has not yet been determined and their appearance has thrown a scirrocco into my ordered plan.

Phobius day 7

We had to kill another human under the bad influence of Ke-nan. That spying squashbuckler is dead though.

Further east my cavalry and unicorn couldn't handle a single waterdancer.

Now that the Nomads have discovered that we have a basilisk in our midst, we don't need to hide anymore. Beware Nomads, the basilisk is coming!

Ke-nan - day 7

My humble realm is thrown into a panic with the news of the basilisk. When one panics, mistakes are made.

Attacking a camp of goblins was more difficult and costly then it should have been. "What is needed is calm people. All is not lost. Do not forget, I am the great Ke-nan."

Ke-nan - day 8

Mynar and host seemed to have turned their tales and run. Well, they haven't followed through with their threat to come and get me.

Phobius day 8 (delayed report, because of slow scouts)

Mynar has other business to attend fist. A renegade Halfling town needs to be mine soon!

Captured some resources. Preparations for our next big plan are made.

Ke-nan - Day 9

Phobious ordered his force to retreat it appears. A shame as I had a welcome commitee prepared for him. Khaan explores another another ruin instead of battle with the basilisk.

So, Ke-nan is seeking a challenge eh? Well, please move forward you stupid Nomad!

Ke-nan - Day 10

Phobious is resorting to name calling, probably to get us to make a mistake. He's probably just jealous of Khaan who carries the chicken shield and a spare shield of the bog.

As much as we appreciate his invite into the north, my eastern force is satisfied with just protecting the border. We did do a little raiding though.

Phobius day 11

So Ke-nan thinks his hero Khaan is quite something? Perhaps he should see Belendor. He solely killed a Hydra today, gaining a very powerful item indeed.

Ke-nan - Day 11

I see Belendor and his items will look great on Khaan.

Some more raiding in the north east.

Let's see if those hasted Nomads dare to go even further. In the meantime, I'm taking my chances in the west.

Ke-nan - Day 12

A third day of raiding, ever deeper into enemy territory. I required inteligence on the enemy movements. The pet basilisk of Phobious was spotted heading south, a good days ride from the bridge, as well as other forces converging. Time to run I think, but my troops may need to fight their way out.

Bah, pesky hasted Nomad's everywhere. It's about time we start to kill some of them.

posted 08-20-03 03:10 PM EDT (US)     27 / 44
Ke-nan - Day 13

In the west Khaan rode down Belendor who fought bravely, killing two of Khaan's escort before Khaan struck the killing blow against the heretic.

In the east I ordered a continuation of the raids. Scouting showed the convergence of a large force led by Mynar with basilisk, knights, herbalists, boars, etc...

My main force in the east retreats back to a defensible position on the cliff road across the river.

PS. I hope we can switch sides and replay this one LTR, to be fair, when we finish this one.

posted 08-21-03 03:49 AM EDT (US)     28 / 44
We'll sure do a rematch with switched sides.

Nomad's are one thing, but hasted Nomad's seem to be a bit over the top on this map. And they gave Ke-nan the Explorer skill too.

Anyways let's first see how and where this ends. Couldn't play another turn yesterday since my ISP was having DNS problems. Will do the turn after work.

Ke-nan - Day 14

Today was truly your lucky day Phobious as my assassin's just barely failed to stop your cruel war against the favored race of nomads.

There was a shade and an abomination that my horse archers had hired in the rogue shack. They were all to willing to hide in the woods and climb your walls to finish you, but alas they failed, barely.

Your time will come.

By the way, doesn't Khaan look dashing in his new floating armor and with his new weapon he is ready to shred, literally.

Phobius day 17

It was time for a daring move. My hero lead the charge against the foul troops of Ke-nan that had been razing my towers and even some of my supllies. Sadly my brave hero died, but so did all of Ke-nan's troops.

A great victory as we're heading deep into the Nomad lands now.

Hmm,.. I would have hoped to have killed 1 or 2 kgnights but alas, there are three of these tough wariors and the basilisk.

But, surprise, I have a basilisk too. My basilisk and company advance into the lands of the tormentor in the north west.

The spirits of my garison and the citizens of my city were raised by the arrival of Khaan. Surely no force can breach our walls with he and myself in defence.

The enemy force is in range to attack in one day. Will they? I doubt it.
