My troops are pure and mighty, and they will cleanse the land of all that desecrates it. We begin in the homeland, where many resources are held by renegades.

Looking forward to a fun game FB!

I think Evil Roc is not the only one who is curious about the map. Please submit it so everybody could have it

Ok, so I will say something before the game starts. There is absolutely nothing curious about this map. I just made the underground area a one-tunnel which is goverened by a somewhat mistempered Kharagh in the middle. I did a few additional arrangements underground which I started to regret, so basically this map is withdrawn from the public. Those who desperately want to see it, I can send it for inspection. But anybody wishing to play or make knowledgable comments I'ld ask to wait for a newer version which should be coming out shortly.

Cheer leaders? Not for us! I'm convinced Anon's dour court rules won't allow for such petty things and we here on the Dark side have beloved Ymbria, the vamps and the sweethearted Laladria, what else could we wish for? - I mean, you can bring them here, but I'm rather convinced they won't return!

Nekron, day 1

Stirred from our meditations we hear the faint sound of distant silver jingle-bells that Anon uses to hang on his warriors' garnment. The good-willing are on their lie-soaken quest again! - Still reluctant but in awareness of our responisbility before evolution, we hold a short strategy meeting and move out of castle.

Our progress is slow but sure -- the rebels are stubborn in thier defenses! Still, we press on for our cause.

The Almighty has sent us a sign! It has rained overnight and the country is full of resources. We go snatch at them before our enemy does.

Minor battles here and there as we clean up the area. Major cities call to us, but I fear I will not have enough gold to buy them.

Independents enjoyed a good bonus today. We lost some units fighting them, and we didn't get quite as far as we had wished for.

The bards tells us that we have a bit of catching up to do. My troops continue cleaning up the immediate area, and I begin longer range plans for some of the larger targets in the distance.

Nekron, day 4

The smell of fine incense is in the air. It seem that Anon's soldiers have visited our secret agent task force over the night, but frightened from our sheer sight they must have disappeared in the bushes again. - And what we can predict Anon's scouts is that they will see, or not see, some surprises in the coming days.

Anon - Archons - Day5

Ummm yes, I've actually been aware of the spider and its recruits, but it took me some time to get a suitable counter force that far out. The Dwarves did me a bit of a favor, but your "task force" accomplished quite a bit of damage before they were finally put down. Luckily, Leprechauns have regeneration -- but the Bladedancer nearly killed him anyway!

"Nearly" was not good enough! But it was a nail biter as well. - A Leprechaun in day 5, not bad! It has taken him 2 days to go to the battle field, subtracted one day to reach the Halfling city. So you must have produced it in two turns at the most. Must have cost you a fortune! - which hopefully you will be missing now.

We also concluded Anon-Dafyth is trying to play cat and mouse with us again. But this time we are warned.

Another hero has joined my cause -- as he is Elven perhaps he can negotiate better with the mighty independant Elf city in the South. The gods know I have not enough money to pay what they wish, and I do not want to fight their strong garrison.

Nekron's troops are strangely silent -- perhaps he is having his own problems as well? It would be nice to know that I am not the only one experiencing difficulties.

The soft voice of Anon warns us of deception. But we need not worry. We are steadfast and know what we are doing. Death will come to a visit, sooner or later!

Anon - Archons - Day7

Hmmm, my bad luck -- BOTH campsites contained evil troops, and both were recruited by my enemy. My good luck is that those may have made Nekron too bold, as he marched into my terrotory as if he owned it.

The Elven city he was marching toward was actually owned by me, and it contained an Iron Maiden, 3 Charioteers, and assorted level 2 backups, all hidden in the fog.

I lost the Iron Maiden, all of the level 2s, and one Charioteer was gravely injured. But the remaining chariots and my hero rush in to pressure the Goblin city, hoping that there are no other powerful enemy units nearby.

I do this becuase I have found Nekron's other force -- riding up the Western highway. They were spotted and outflanked by an Eagle Rider, which now pressures the Drow city. The early warning sends troops quickly to defend the Hobbits nearby, and these troops will go on the offensive should the situation present itself.

Of course, I could be bluffing -- the Hobbit city might actually stand empty

Nekron, day 7

We are not surprised by your newly false mouth! Your invasion in the South was ruled by good luck. It seems your Charioteers can take on quite a bit more than when I played them in the other game. But be it as it may, it will be interesting to see how your invasion will develop!

Ymbria in the North has become furious and is riding up to the Halfling city with her hord of well trained riders. May Anon try to get happy with the Dark Elf city, we guess he won't! - Indeed, the Hobbits have a few units standing, we are astounded how many good units Anon has produced already, considering our early snatching at his resources. We assume the mischievous Leprechaun is hiding with the defenders too. An interesting battle is coming ahead!

Torgal has rallied the remaining defends at NewRock. Should they successfully defend then we shall feel much more comfortable about the remainder of the war.

My Eaglerider has captured Town, Node and Watchtower in the West. To the East; Town, watchtower and furnace, have been captured by my other hero and her escorts. I rely on these should NewRock's defenders fail.

Nekron, day 8

We have to pay Anon respect. He perfoms miraculous unit procreation and his heros travel by incredible speed. The hobbit city has shown Thorgal (with a remaining speed of 31) and some other units on addition. We were aware that our defenses were weak but Ymbria and her mission failed completely, leaving bearly a scratch on Anon's soldiers.

Under these circumstance we have surrendered. Looks like my grip to the pointed hat has failed for this time.

Anon - Archons - Epilouge

Yes, It was fortunate to have Torgal on hand. Contrary to rumours that he was heading to the Elven city, he was actually heading for the Hobbits, as was a bit short (3 hexes) the turn before. Thankfully, so were the intruders, and Torgal moved the last three hexes the next turn to garrison, with support. Obviously, had you not been a few movement points short yourself, you could have atacked a day earlier and the story would have been different -- but it was not to be. Two of my four archers had MkII, Torgal had MkIII, and I cast enchanted weapon on these three. Behind walls such missiles are so deadly!

I only built 4 units total during the entire game; they were: 2 charioteers (one which finished 1 turn early), 1 Iron Maiden (rushed) and one Eagle rider. And I summoned 2 Unicorns. All the other units were the ones that I started with.

The Leprechaun is a secret that I will share with you offline

Thanks again for a fun match. I am more comfortable with the undead, so it was instructive for me to play as Archons. I learned a lot this game

Nekron, Epilog

I took the freedom and inspected your turns a posteriori. To avoid any misunderstanding: all your positions show as possible. What really vexes me is your unbelievable luck in melee battle. I'm not so much speaking of Ymbria's lunatic mission - and due to a headache she even forgot dispelling - but of my lost 12 small and mid-ranged units against the other stack. I have seen a handful of small units of yours melting down two decorated Charioteers in our previous game as if they were night wardens.

I've learned about the Leprechaun! Ridiculous! I knew the trick in defending, good to see that you can use it for attacking, too. I guess that's what makes the difference for a champion.

Thanks for an instructive game.
