Tempest Game A:

Explored around the capital, then sent a hero off to pick up the shoulder cannon. That's definately going to be useful

? Game B:

I sit patiently in the void, waiting to be incarnated.

Day 1.

Game A (Gabriel)
Exploring landscape. Spoted a nearby town.

Game B (Tempest)
Captured a furnce, haven't picked up an artifact yet. Scout spoted a band of dangerous indies to the east.

Tempest Game A:

Took some production resources, and noticed those area gaurds to the east. Ugly.

Gabriel Game B:

Picking up resources.

Day 2.

Game A (Gabriel)
Captured a town of humans. An annoying droup of indies with doom bat is spoted. (I have a great respect for bats )

Game B (Tempest)
Indies attacked my during the night... Great luck that I've lost nobody! Yet my hero survived with 1 hp and crusher spent half of the battle in harvester's belly. Several seconds more, and he would be remade into larva.

And one more mighty stack (with level 3 unit) was spoted in the same region. Expanding will be painful.

It seems that Gabriel's position is better. Yet I have got a plan...

Game A:
Its definately ugly over there. I think I'm going to have sacrifieced a crusher to get my hands on the mana.

Game B:
Waiting for the human town to convert over. Had a patrol pass me by that needed to be eliminated. I may end up losing my wizards to a patrol with doom bats.

-----

I agree Gabriel has the better starting position here. Though its not impossible for tempest.

Day 3.

Game A (Gabriel)
Crushed one stack with bats and spoted another - again with bats. Destroyed Tempests scout.

Game B (Tempest)
Trying to do something useful...

Game A:
Took the human city from Gabriel. We'll see how concentrated his forces are, and how soon then can gather back to meet me there.

Game B:
Found that second group of wandering bats as well. Damn but its dangerous on that side. I may rethink how good Gabriel's position is.

Day 4.

Game A (Gabriel)
Not very good news. After all I to start to think different about starting positions

Game B (Tempest)
Have done something useful...

Turn A:
Had a less than great run getting resources for my city

Turn B:
Havn't lost my main wizard yet, but may still when the bats decend.

Day 4.

Game A (Gabriel)
Do not know what to do.

Game B (Tempest)
Moving around.

----
Hmm, Tempest's position turned to be better.

Game A:
Took the undead city, but without troops don't expect to hold it long. Especially with the huge patrol in that area.

Game B:
Tried to blast some bats out of the sky with burning, didn't work. Almost lost my valkarie taking out the bats.

Day 6.
Game A (Gabriel)
Blow comes after blow.

Game B (Tempest)
Captured one small town from Gabriel.

Tempest
The town I recently took rebelled against my leadership. That was expected, but is annoying none the less. We'll see what else can be done.

Gabriel

Lost a town to the Draconions. An expected loss, but costly none the less. On this map, no town is truly small

Day 6.

Game A (Gabriel)
Time to strike back! Captured two towns from Tempest. Yet I have to face his main army soon.

Game B (Tempest)

Day 10.

Game A (Gabriel)
Yes, my pegasus rider reported a powerful army with 3 heroes and hydra incoming. I'm trying to prepare some defence, but enchanted hydra can be very dangerous and my strongest hero is still badly wounded after the fight with patroling icedrace rider.

Some good news too: One more zephyr bird was killed.

posted 11-24-03 08:30 AM EDT (US)     21 / 33
Moving in, but I see a lot of troops out there.

Day 10.

Game A (Gabriel)

Dividing army into 3 groups and placing them in a row was fatal mistake. I gathered all my forces and attacked enemy hero. Hydra and flamer were to far away to participate in battle, so my valiant soldiers defeated Tempest himself and all his three heroes. Then hydra was finished in second battle.

Although losses were quite big the overall result favours me. I doubt that Tempest will manage to raise one more powerful army, but care is needed. It's a pity that pegasus perished in battle. His flying ability and great sight would be very valuable.

Day 10.

Game A (Gabriel)

Recovering from yesterdays massacre... All survivors save brave avenger are wounded, so no offensive actions for a while.

Game A - trying to rebuild my forces.

Day 12.

Game A (Gabriel)

Nothing new. I don't want to rush blindly into enemy territory, so I'm going to use my economical advantage. Will go and capture undead outpost tommorow.

posted 11-25-03 03:15 AM EDT (US)     26 / 33
Day 12.

Game A (Gabriel)

Captured undead outpost. Meanwhile heroes are restoring health and a couple of fresh soldiers joined the army.

Day 20.

Game A (Gabriel)

Number of level 3 units in Tempest's army was an unpleasant surprise. It seems he completed quest of some spirit and received these pair of champions as a reward. But my army still had the advantage and I ordered the attack. Battle was bloody and furious, but Tempest's minions were soon badly outnumbered, surrounded and slain.

There are enough survivors on my side to continue march on Tempest's capital.

Day 21.

Game A (Gabriel)

Army is on treshold of Tempest's tower. Tommorow we will knock at the door.

posted 11-29-03 01:39 PM EDT (US)     33 / 33
My army attacked and won.

Thanks for playing Hiranu! This was pretty interesting. At first I thought that Gabriel's position is better (lots of villages nearby), then I changed my mind - Tempest had a chance for quick unexpected rush and two nice structures to help - tavern with orcish hero awaiting (you probably missed it) and druid's circle with treeman and a couple of nymphs. Yet it seems that Tempest had only one chance - to attack quick and with good force. Otherwise Ggabriel was going to use his economic power to mass troops (as I did in game A).

Please report the results to WL topic yourself, I had not much time now.
