then I can hopefully translate your rough English into excellent English

Obviously it would be better for you, though, to find someone who is excellent in both German and English, which sadly I am not...

Sorry, my german is far from excellent. It would take me years to translate a map like that.

I had you on my little mind-list and I have someone how dares to translate into rough english too.
So it can work if we donīt find someone like Chat Noir (He made the english version of Gates of Elocin) who is excellent in both German and English.

Again I call for help for the translation.
The progress of the translation is hauling or have even stopped. I have no feedback since a longer time from the translators. If the translations speed not grows up, the map will be not translated into english. There is so far only one little part translated by Horza (20 pages of maybe 200 pages of text).
So if we are not able to speed up the process I will release the map only in german language and that will mean that it becomes maybe unplayable to all engish players because there are hints that the player needs to understand.
Maybe it is better than to not release the map at all, because I have no fun in getting critics of english players that pushes the map down only because they canīt read the infos in it.
For me isīt a act of good will to try to give you english players the map in your mother language. I donīt need it in english. For me and the translators itīs only much work to give it into english to you too.

So I ask you again for help for the translation.

Thank you all translation members for the work so far but if we work with this speed on the map canīt be released this century.

I will wait for the new year, if there is maybe more time for translation and maybe I find another translator.

Oh and Lal Iīm a perfectionist maybe in some things but not for the english translation. The translators have all the freedom they want in translation the text as long as it gives back the information that it should give.

I used to edit and publish a couple of magazines, BITD. I still do a little freelance ghost work. I would be glad to lend a hand to help this out.

I have asked them now one last time but I think there will be no response again.

So I have started phase two.
I have used a translation program to translate the text to a very bad and ugly english.

Now the people that have offered me their help for a "bad english --to--> good english will be my last hope (or the last hope for the players here). I donīt need a english translation. I do it only for you community players.
Iīm a little sad but not angre that the people that have offered their help first all draw back from the process now. But I understand. Itīs much and hard work. What I donīt understand is that they donīt give a feedback. A little "No, I dont have time anymore where enought."

Now the english people have it in their hands and I hope that this will work, even when the translation will be much mor complicated.

Roger have started translating a first part of the "bad english version" (tool generated version).
I will wait some last days (have send a last email to the german translators). After I have an answer (or not again), I will begin asking the english people that have offerd their help here.

But beware. Itīs much work and you will need a translation tool that is able to translate single words because some words have not been translated by my tool.

I calculate a timespan of one month for translation and another month for implementing the text.

Itīs much more complicated now but itīs the last hope for the english players.

I can translate it (bad english) into french language (and I have 1 week of holidays soon...)
I know it's not the same than the translation into good english... but we're some french players in the community and for me (and for lot of them I suppose) it's better to play your map in the Moliere's mother language
If you're agree, say me how we can working about this together.
If not, no problem, I'm waiting for the english version
I can imagine that insert german, english and french version could be difficult... you're the best placed to judge of that.

Send me a sample of what your present tools give you and I will see what I can do. If you can send it in Microsoft WORD, that would be ideal. If not, PDF files are completely workable for me.

Afrench version? Why not? But I think that must be done after the english version. And I think that must be done by one person like you Lal that have Mapmaking skills because I think then we would not have three languages in one map. Then we will splitt up the map into a german & english version and a german and frenc version. That means that there are two different maps and that means double work if there is a bug in a map. Then both version must be reworked and that is to much work for me alone. Means that your french version becomes your "baby" then Lal. First letīs do the english version and then let us see (if you got the whole map) if you dare to bind such a stone to your leg

Seems like an interesting project.... I might be able to help out a little but my german skills are poor (see above). I studied german for 3 or 4 years in highschool and I can still count to 20+ but I was never fluent. Basic grammer, conjugation and sentence structure are not too unfamiliar to me. My vocabulary stinks but my trusty german/english dictionary is a great little tool.

Now if you needed help in Portuguese.... I'm fluent in that language but there won't be much need for that I'm afraid)

Like Roger I could help out on the bad to good english and with limited german skills I might be able to help out where your translator tool failed. Send me a small sample and I'll see what I can do, I might realize very quickly that I'm in way over my head..... or with some luck I might actually be able to help.

Am planning to do mechanical translation of my own, compare the two translations, and edit from that point.

I see no problem in meeting your April 1st deadline, at least not at this time.

Try you own mechanical translation (means you want to use a translation tool too?).
No problem but I think the new english version is not as bad as the first was (now as most of my typos are removed).
Itīs only important that in the end there is a stylish fantasy text that gives back the same as I have written in german.

Itīs a team work. I hope even when you are on your own when you translate, that you feel it as team work and that the text is not to difficult. An than we have "ONE" text at the end.

If I have no feedback from some of the translation team members until 10. March 2007, (if they are able to translate the parts they have obtain from me), I must scratch their names from my list of helpers and the next helpfull hand jumps into the team.

Sounds hard maybe but itīs the only way to be sure that the translation will be successful. As I have sayed phase one of translation project failed totaly because I was to liberal. So it isīnt mean bad but consequent.
