I didn't participate in this conversation and of course don't have anything against the gandalf mod, its just an example, the other day someone wanted to play mercenary mod.(or mercy, never heard of it)
The talk was puplic so i changed just names with xxxxx.

See what i mean with that many mods aren't good for the online commnity and there is a good reasion why to fight for v1.5 and ~~balanced~~ online friendly changes?
Now with fewer population and no(?) veteran players on gs who at least would play some mods its getting even worser.

The other one is Gepro or KOBK, as they are the only people that play that mod.

glad I a not the only one who feels this way about mods. Every time I want to play a game, in the rare chance that I do find someone, I forgot who but he told me to download this mod that he wanted to play, so I did. It was 900 megabytes, and I was there for 3 hours. Then I felt like sleeping so I did and never talked to him again. Even if I had wanted to I couldn't have becuase he was already gone.
I hate mods for online play. I hate people telling me to download mods all the time. It sucks. The game is fine 1.3 just play the damn game!

People seem to lack common courtesy when they ask you to play a mod.

We don't have normal games as it is... why not play a normal one first and a modded one after it finishes? It could download in the background.

People play mods because Upatch 1.4 is so boring when you have played it every day for the last few years, and mods are so much more advanced in terms of (for example) morphing and interesting heroes. Personally I think it's quite selfish and ignorant to turn up at Gamespy and assume that all the people that have been playing for years should play what YOU want to play.

We play the game for our own enjoyment, not as a service for n00bs.

I play dwiggs and MP.. at least thats what I did when I was playing. Downloading mediocre mods other people play is just too tedious for me. That being said, I realize that modding keeps the game alive.. and I commend the efforts of the people who mod.. but I just hate learning the game all over again unless I am certain from peer reviews that it will be worth my effort.

If Wal-Mart is lowering prices everyday, then how come nothing is free yet?
